Coronavirus Passed From Chicago Woman To Spouse

Not good. The woman returned from China, went home, called dr when fell ill. She was masked and put in isolation. The time with husband she was obviously contagious.

I read about her the day she went into hospital, 2nd citizen to be admitted for virus. She'd NO contact with any outside of her home, once she returned to airport. The report did NOT say only her spouse, so it's certainly possible others had been in the home.

I'm not trusting or taking any chances at all with this one. I think even WHO changed things from bad to worse from their aspect. China has downplayed things but apparently has 50 million on lockdown. Russia shuts its border with China. And I see them in China rolling folks into ambulances in plastic tubes and cubes. No thanks for me!!

This virus sounds pretty bad ... however, this is what's happened so far with the current FLU season


So far, 8,200 people have died and 140,000 people have been hospitalized during the 2019-2020 flu season, according to preliminary estimates from the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm#ILIActivityMap).
"The flu season began early this year and took off aggressively," added Schaffner. "It began prominently in the southeastern states but quickly spread. So far, there is no sign that the momentum of the annual epidemic is slowing."
The majority of flu activity has been clustered in 35 states, as well as in New York City and Puerto Rico.
In total, the CDC estimates that 15 million people have gotten the flu so far this season.
