A 22-year-old woman staying at one of the homes on the Kennedy Compound in Cape Cod died after a suspected overdose on Thursday, according to reports.
Police are investigating the death after they were called to the Massachusetts compound at around 2:30 p.m., according to WCVB (https://www.wbaltv.com/article/woman-dies-paramedics-called-to-kennedy-compound-in-cape-cod/28582433).
The woman was in cardiac arrest when medics arrived, The Hyannis News reported (https://hyannisnews.com/hyannis-port-cape-cod-massachusetts-breaking-police-and-rescue-respond-to-reports-of-an-overdose-inside-kennedy-compound-patient-was-reportedly-in-cardiac-arrest-as-first-officers-arrived-on-scene/).
She was then taken to Cape Cod Hospital, according to Boston 25 News (https://www.boston25news.com/news/paramedics-respond-to-medical-call-at-kennedy-compound-in-hyannisport/972047423).
Sources told The Hyannis News that the home belongs to 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy, the widow of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
The Kennedy Compound consists of several waterfront homes along the Nantucket Sound in Hyannis Port, the report said.
The death takes place 50 years after the late Senator Ted Kennedy’s car plunged off a bridge off of Martha’s Vineyard, killing his 28-year-old passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne.
