Ya... I joined the "other board" on May 8th of 2004. I was member #1,041 or something very close to that. The new owners have removed the member sequence numbers.

That other board was like the wild, wild west... :laugh: It's actually still pretty rowdy.

I remember Venus, a crazy woman from Canada, and then creates a dual account of "jimnyc_will_die". "Bamthin, argued for 100 pages of garbage. "Spillmind", who was weird, and we find out he ate worms! A lot of crazy characters back then!

And 17 years of installations, updates, upgrades, bills/payments, installing add-ons, downtime....

But yeah, I'm still so happy that NT and I went and did this. I had no idea that I would make friends, that the 1st board would last, that the whole thing is now up to 17 years!! I'd pay triple to do it again if I had to. I love the friends I have made!! I enjoy the banter and daily talk with so many familiar faces. I love learning WAY more than I already learned, from SO many smart posters from both sides. It's like having a never-ending news source.

Worth repeating - while folks like to say "Jim's board", even when referencing both places - I still say it is own and ran by the community. I own it and pay the bills and do the legwork on the back end. I make an initial set of rules. Some volunteers agreed to be abused as "staff" over the years, and they help me keep things running smoothly, and help with those rules, and making them better over the years. The community as well has helped shape what little rules we have over the years as well, and if anything, helped reduce them. And it's the community, all affiliations, that make it the "smart place" I see it has, where I learn so much. From awesome military folks, lawyers, a superb teacher & so many other great professions and backgrounds.

And oh man, some of the characters over the years as I mentioned. :rolleyes: Sertes, 9/11 truther and polar bears are munching on motor oil. :laugh:

I pretty much can say I feel the same way about this board. My first board joined was full of liberal/leftist/socialist/deem assholes that made it barely tolerable to engage in activity there. I left that libtard,leftist shit-hole and came here, had to fight right away, (fighting stirs me and always has,(hee,hee).
I survived and then determined that there was more than a few truly great, intelligent and honorable members here that I could learn from.
The rest is me staying and still learning, although much slower now due to my ongoing and (oft unbearable health issues) and my vastly increased family duties.....
And the hardship of raising a young son in this damn dark and getting worse every day world...
Teaching him how to live by a true and honorable code( as was taught me by my father and grandfather) and he still survive in the crap this world forces upon him.
I can and do so very often let him read here alongside of me-- as many here are good teachers/defenders of America, its freedoms, its Constitutional rights and its proud history. So this site is a net and triple positive for me and my family. Sadly my wife does not in any way engage in politics..
She being from the Philippines actively follows the current politics in that corrupted nation and does so with very innocent eyes , I might add..
Not seeing any of what I SEE GOING ON THERE.
Truth is, these many years here have been , a true and very much appreciated blessing to me thanks to so many of you....

This is funny, the first complaint I have saved is from "Archangel" and he/she was angry with Darin. LOTS of folks threatened over the years with no more contributions, whether that be posting in general, or quite a few stating no longer donating. Psychoblues even opened a case with Paypal and had a donation reversed - many months later!

I would like to make you aware that I have been removed from the usmessageboard by one DKSuddeth, a mentor who found that my posts apparently did not agree with his viewpoints. His apparent rage at my post with proof of my statements caused him to give me a warning to discontinue my opinions on that particular thread. He cursed me on his post while I refrained from invectives toward him.
I replied that he was correct and that my point had been made and that I would no longer post on that thread. This morning, I could not get back on the board and read his final reply taking me off the board for a week.

It is my understanding that he has every right to remove permanently or for a period of time anyone he chooses. My consider my posts to be inflammatory because of my stance with Israel and her safety.
I do not want any consideration but simply to relate this gentleman and his actions. Thank you for your understanding of events.

First off, I want to thank you for your concern for me personally and
appreciation of my POV regardless how it might differ from your own. I
think you are correct. We have similar if not exact end goals. We see the
path to those goals a little differently and that's about it.

As far as Stephanie is concerned, to be honest I don't remember actually
calling her a whore. Our conversation was at the end of a long night of
posting and of course I was indulging, probably too much indulging, in my
Busch beer. It would be helpful if I could view the message in question. I
certainly don't mean to imply that my behaviour should be excused due to my
alcohol intake or my tiredness after such a night. I mean simply that I
don't fully recall the incident.

Certainly I would apologize for referring to Stephanie as a whore. As with
all the USMB posters, I don't have a clue as to their personal lives or
professions unless they share them directly with me. Stephanie has not done
this. I certainly did not intend anything vicious or malicious im my
remarks. As you already know, I've got some fairly thick skin or I would
have left USMB long ago due to many episodes of name-calling and innuendo
from other members participating in my screeds and historical sharing.

If you see fit to restore my priveleges at USMB, I thank you sincerely. If
you do not, I still thank you sincerely for having provided me the
opportunity thus far to share and examine issues on your boards. dmp
(Darin) did what they thought was best at the time and I hold no grudges,
EVER. Stephanie did the same. Once again, Jim, I think you are a class act
and I respect whatever decision you make.

Thank you for your response...the issue of the ban was for nothing more than teasing Kathy about being home and on the board all day and was still on at like 8:00pm her time..She said in another post that she was going out with a friend to the ' Outback' and would be home about 1:00am to check on the kids...I just yanked her chain about it and she and dmp went off on me...They have been giving me a rough time for the last several weeks trying their best to instigate a fight so they could ban me, as dmp kept threatening...I sent you copies via pm but I guess dmp or kathy deleted them...These were copies of the pm from and returned to kathy...dmp did not pm me he just lashed out and flammed me in the post..Then he or she banned me so I could not respond...I did not address our argument in the thread but answered kathy on her pm! Darrin and Kathy have a habit of flamming others on this board and dish it out ,but have a hard time taking it..Also numerous people have complained about kathy over doing the cut and paste...She fills the pages with endless copies she finds as original as well as adding to others posts...it really gets annoying and most feel she just does it to raise her points from huge postings...why can't she just copy a paragraph or two and give the link like everyone else?
