The bill includes a Republican amendment requiring that gun sellers notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement when an illegal immigrant tries to buy a gun. Twenty-six Democrats joined with Republicans to support the amendment, offered by Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga.

The proposed law would not have made it illegal for a non legal resident to buy a gun. It already is illegal. That's why the question is on the ATF form. Gun dealers can NOT sell a firearm to an illegal alien.

The proposed law would have REQUIRED ICE be notified if an illegal alien even applied to buy a gun so that they could go pick their asses up.

To recap, I have little doubt that Democrats are fine with illegals owning guns, but that is not what this proposed law was about.

Democrats should read the existing laws, and BATFE needs to crack down - need the restraints
the damn Democrats have placed on them, illegally, removed.
