New York State is facing a budget shortfall of $2B this year
Andrew Cuomo, our governor, wants you to think it’s the SALT limitations from the Tax Reform that are to blame for the exodus of the wealthy from the state
Actually, governor, this was inevitable... the SALT limitation just hastened the exodus. The Amazon pull out just made the problem more obvious.
In his speech there is a hint that, maybe, he’s starting to get it. He stated that the richest 1% pay 50% of the taxes and, furthermore, he said “God forbid if any more rich people leave the state!”
Really Gov? Strange how you have been told those very things by the Right.
So, how about, instead of blaming the SALT limitation, you try fixing the problem? Like allow for fracking, reduce regulations, lower taxes, scale back on the welfare state?
