UPDATED 9:08 AM PT — Friday, January 11, 2019A growing number of democrats looking to challenge President Trump in 2020 are embracing a far-left agenda in hopes of attracting younger voters.
At least eight potential Democrat candidates have voiced support for the Green New Deal, including Congressmen Eric Swalwell and Beto O’Rourke as well as Senators Elizabeth Warren and Corey Booker.
The progressive proposal, which is being championed by freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, seeks to completely eliminate fossil fuels as part of a solution to fight climate change. However, critics fear the proposal would kill hundreds of thousands of jobs and dramatically raise America’s deficit.

Bill O'R is knowledgeable about the UK. He's right about our higher tax bracket.

This Ocasio-Cortez person is just a slightly more extreme example of what our own Left produces. If the Socialists get back into power over here, Corbyn has a VERY spendthrift programme lined up for us all.

Also, this whole idea of being ideology-led, and being 'fuzzy' about any underpinning facts & figures .. again ... very familiar. The Left will always talk about 'greater rights and moral imperatives', whether or not they actually address the real world.

AOC drives me nuts. Listening to her is like having itching powder in my shorts.

Each time I hear her talk, she manages the impossible, i.e. to say something even more idiotic than the previous time I heard her. How does she do that? It boggles the imagination.

I think it’s pretty obvious that she’s out to make a name for herself and has political ambitions beyond just being the youngest Cretin to be elected to Congress. I think if she keeps this up, she will have managed to alienate just about everyone, including The DNC.... one can only hope.

The silver lining to this cloud is that she just might energize the base enough to ensure a win in 2020.

Would it be too much to ask that she get thrown out of office, too?
