HAVANA (Reuters) - Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro is tipping Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to team up and win the U.S. presidential election.
Clinton leads Obama in the race to be the Democratic nominee for the November 2008 election, and Castro said they would make a winning combination.
"The word today is that an apparently unbeatable ticket could be Hillary for president and Obama as her running mate," he wrote in an editorial column on U.S. presidents published on Tuesday by Cuba's Communist Party newspaper, Granma.http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN2825114320070828?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews

A communist dictator endorsing Hillary Clinton... who ever would have thought this?
Of course, Castro's country has socialized medicine so you see how Hillary is a lady after his heart.
But if you want to see what Hillary Clinton's policies will do to our country, just take a look at Cuba.
Castro has managed to transform a third world country into a fourth world country.

Obama adds nothing to a Clinton ticket. He would actually hurt the ticket.
The Bubba voters might go for a woman prez, but adding a black VP is pushing their tolerance a little too far.
John Edwards would be a much better running mate for Hillary, if he could be talked into the VP spot. He would help deliver the South for the Dems.

Castro has hated this country since JFK. That has nothing to do with Bush, but everything to do with the fact that Castro is a power hungry maniac.
Besides Castro is no lover of freedom or of rights. If Castro was so concerned about those things, he'd be practicing them in his own country.
I think Castro's endorsement of Hillary Clinton speaks volumes about what he believes a Hillary Clinton presidency would be like.
That should give any voter who seriously believes Hillary Clinton would make a good president reason to reconsider.

oddly enough, I am not the mainstream media or a liberal blogger. I merely suggested that saying that a certain ticket was unbeatable was not, in and of itself, an "endorsement' OF that ticket.
I think Castro might merely be commenting on the disarray the republican party finds itself as a result of having Bush carrying the party banner as he continually stepped in dogshit for six plus years... that, and the vote drawing power of the first woman on the top of a ticket and the first black on the ticket.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Add another name to the list of political observers who think a Clinton-Obama ticket would be unbeatable: Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
In an editorial in Cuba's communist party newspaper, Granma, the ailing dictator said the pairing of the two White House hopefuls seemed "invincible," according to an English translation on the paper's Web site.
Castro, who has overseen communist rule of Cuba since 1959, did, however, make it clear that he is no fan of the two Democrats' support of democratic reform in Cuba.
"Both of them feel the sacred duty of demanding 'a democratic government in Cuba,'" Castro wrote. "They are not making politics: they are playing a game of cards on a Sunday afternoon."
It seems someone is stretching the truth here?

The truth of the matter is that he made an observation. It was, in fact, a stinging rebuke of both Hillary and Obama...and and even bigger indictment of the overall weakness of YOUR party.
He may not be the smartest guy on the shelf, but he was smart enough to overthrow and replace an American backed dictator and then rule Cuba for fifty years, which, I would imagine, makes him a hell of a lot smarter than YOU.

You falsely claimed that I said that Castro had succeeded because of his evil endeavors... bullshit erroneous statement again showing your atrocious level of comprehension skills.
You falsely claimed that Castro was "my hero" with NOTHING to justify it.
given all that, for you to claim victory is really a rather pathetic combination of laughable and sad. But hey....why not go ahead and show me how tough you are again by giving me another negative reputation. LOL

I would be perfectly willing to admit defeat if you had, in fact, defeated me at ANYTHING.
I pointed out that Castro did NOT endorse Hillary/Obama. Any fool with a third grade education can read the transcript of his remarks and see that he, in fact, denounces both of them. But either you are like a lazy schoolboy who tries to use cliff notes for his book report and only reads the headline, or you are an intentional "big liar".

What are you kooks going to do when President Bush shows he has no intention of becoming a dictator when he peacefully passes the presidency as has always been done?
Oh and the funny thing about paying for crimes, you have to commit them first. He has committed many crimes. Just because you may be a Bush apollogist makes them no less severe or detrimental to America.
When a president says things like don't show me the constitution it's only a piece of paper you should be worried!

There must be laws he has broken? If you want an ounce of credibility here, you need to back up your statments. And you do not need to be a lawyer to know if a law was broken.
Btw, neither you nor I can begin to imagine how much a President is privy to that can not and should not be made public. Privilege exists for a reason.

But it does tend to breed crazzies, and here is the latest example. I was nearly car-jacked up there one night, really late. I suppose it has to do with the very cold winters, summers never getting into the 80's, and having the sun rise so damn early every day.

The MSM: http://www.kxmc.com/getArticle.asp?ArticleId=157325
The Liberal Bloggers: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1887940/posts
so...let me get this straight...you are suggesting that the MSM headlines and "liberal bloggers" are more relevant to what Castro said than his own words?
Castro's own words are quite clear. He attacks both Clinton and Obama...but makes a prediction - NOT AN ENDORSEMENT - that they will beat whoever the pistol whipped republican party puts up.
endorsement
noun
1. a promotional statement (as found on the dust jackets of books); "the author got all his friends to write blurbs for his book"
2. a speech seconding a motion; "do I hear a second?" [syn: second]
3. formal and explicit approval; "a Democrat usually gets the union's endorsement" [syn: sanction]
If I predict that the Yankees will win the American League Wild Card this year, that is hardly an endorsement. I HATE the Yankees and am quite pleased that they will lose the AL East to my beloved Red Sox.
You can post that quote of mine....you can even have the MSM or liberal bloggers write a headline that states:
"Manfrommaine endorses Yanks"
that still does not mean that I endorse them.

Karl: The more people see of Hillary, the more they like her. The stereotype perpetuated by Rush Limbaugh, and eagerly embraced by ardent right-wingers, of Hillary as a socialist is disappearing as people see her on TV and realize she's not a raving communist and she actually looks more competent than the bozos on the Republican side.
The one exception to the general run of Republican bozos is Fred Thompson. He actually looks and acts like a president. But anyone who's been around knows that doesn't mean anything.
