Keeping them there waiting is a positive, but other than folks TRULY needing asylum, they shouldn't let any of them in, IMO.

Deal with Mexico would make asylum seekers wait outside U.S. border

The Trump administration has won the support of Mexico's incoming government for a plan to remake U.S. border policy by requiring asylum seekers to wait in Mexico while their claims move through U.S. courts, according to Mexican officials and senior members of president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador's transition team.

The agreement would break with long-standing asylum rules and place a formidable new barrier in the path of Central American migrants attempting to reach the United States and escape poverty and violence. By reaching the accord, the Trump administration has also overcome Mexico's historic reticence to deepen cooperation with the United States on an issue widely seen here as America's problem.

The White House had no immediate comment.

According to outlines of the plan, known as Remain in Mexico, asylum applicants at the border will have to stay in Mexico while their cases are processed, potentially ending the system Trump decries as "catch and release" that has until now generally allowed those seeking refuge to wait on safer U.S. soil.

Rest - https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/politics/ct-united-states-mexico-asylum-20181124-story.htmlI don't think anyone wants to see a bad ending here because someone's going to get killed as a result. At the same time, we cannot let just any-old-one dance right on in because they feel like it.

So, Mexico bit on Trump threatening to close the border entirely and are going to detain asylum seekers on its side. Sounds like a wise decision

WHO is going to foot THAT bill? It won't be cheap. I'd also like to know if this means Mexico is going to "stockpile" "asylum seekers" in Tijuana, ciudad Juarez, Mexicali, Nuevo Laredo, Piedras Negras, etc? Or stop them at Mexico's SOUTHERN border? It DOES make a difference.

Mexicans are clearly racist against Central Americans.

The agreement would break with long-standing asylum rules...
Oh REALLY?

I recall hearing OVER AND OVER as the INVADERS were pushing their way into Mexico, that if someone is seeking ASYLUM, they're supposed to do it in the FIRST NATION THEY COME TO. So what in the hell are they talking about... "break with long-standing asylum rules?" America is FAR from the FIRST nation these INVADERS come to.

Looks like troops at the borders and threats of border closings have done their job for now.

U.S. and Mexico Draft Deal to End Asylum Catch and Release

Deputies for President Donald Trump and the incoming president of Mexico have penciled a deal that would require asylum-seeking migrants to wait in Mexico until their asylum pleas are heard in U.S. courts, says a report in the Washington Post.

The plan is titled “Remain in Mexico,” said the Post report: (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/deal-with-mexico-paves-way-for-asylum-overhaul-at-us-border/2018/11/24/87b9570a-ef74-11e8-9236-bb94154151d2_story.html?utm_term=.4a0da646a9f5)

MEXICO CITY — The Trump administration has won the support of Mexico’s incoming government for a plan to remake U.S. border policy by requiring asylum seekers to wait in Mexico while their claims move through U.S. courts, according to Mexican officials and senior members of president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s transition team.

“For now, we have agreed to this policy of Remain in Mexico,” said Olga Sánchez Cordero, Mexico’s incoming interior minister, the top domestic policy official for López Obrador, who takes office Dec. 1. In an interview with The Washington Post, she called it a “short-term solution.”

The Washington Post suggested the deal was reached because of diplomatic pressure by President Trump:

Alarmed by Trump’s deployment of U.S. military forces to California, Arizona and Texas, and his threats to close busy border crossings, Mexican officials were further determined to take action after migrants traveling as part of a caravan forced their way onto Mexican soil last month, pushing past police blockades at the border with Guatemala.

The Remain in Mexico deal may sharply reduce the number of asylum-claiming economic migrants who are released into the United States pending a judge’s decision on their asylum claim.

They are being released into the U.S. jobs market because Congress does not provide enough detention space to hold all of the economic migrants who delay their deportation by asking for asylum. That asylum process can take years, so there are more than 200,000 migrants working in the United States pending decisions in asylum court cases.

Also, the cartel-affiliated coyotes will lose much revenue if few of their clients are released into the United States because of the Remain in Mexico deal.

I think that when Trump gave the order to shoot them if necessary, Soros and his paid crew down there decided starting a war at this moment is not in their best interests and thus had Mexico agree to this deal.
Soros should be arrested, IMHO.-Tyr

What Trump did was put Mexico on the hook for its part in the play, and strong armed them into having a vested interest in stopping the crap. I completely agree with the tactic.

Save the taxpayers the expense. Soros should be shot. In the name of One World Order and "World peace" all he does is sow the seeds of discontent wherever he goes. His own country kicked his ass out. And why is it always the uber-wealthy elitists that are all for socialism? Because they assume they remain elite in the "new order".

Interesting point. Wonder how many wealthy socialists lost their lives to Lenin, Stalin, Castro, etc once they wanted their say...

https://i.ibb.co/9gy7t4T/plan.jpgOne group has already claimed credit. Worlds without Borders or some such trash. I wouldn't be surprised to find some of that trail leads right back to the left side of the US either and I would be more than willing to turn Dems over to Guatemala for trial.

I heard at some point but cannot confirm the truth to the rumor that moron Beto O'Rourke was funding some of it. One can only hope he did and gets caught. Pest control.
