CNN’s newsroom in the Time Warner Center was evacuated Wednesday following reports that a suspicious package was sent to its New York City studios.

Earlier, the U.S. Secret Service said agents intercepted packages containing “possible explosive devices” addressed to former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

White House Condemns Suspected Bombing Attempts at Obama, Clinton Homes

The White House condemned suspected bomb placements Wednesday at the homes of former President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton.

“We condemn the attempted violent attacks recently made against President Obama, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and other public figures,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

The Secret Service confirmed Wednesday that suspicious packages addressed to Former First Lady Hillary Clinton to her home in New York and the residence of Former President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C.

“Both packages were intercepted prior to being delivered to their intended location,” the Secret Service said in a statement. “The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.”

Vice President Mike Pence also condemned the attacks on Twitter.

“These cowardly actions are despicable & have no place in this Country,” he wrote.

Vice President Mike Pence took to Twitter to condemn the "cowardly" and "despicable" acts and to thank the Secret Service and FBI for their response. President Donald Trump did not issue a statement of his own but did retweet Pence roughly 50 minutes later and added "I agree wholeheartedly!"

Law enforcement officials say at least three of the parcels -- those addressed to Clinton, Obama and Soros -- had a manila outer packaging and the devices had stamps on them. The devices appear to be working explosives, sources say, but final analysis is pending further testing. News 4 obtained an image of one of the devices; it appeared to be crude. The signature is nearly the same on all three packages and at least two listed the return address as former Democratic National Committee chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Schultz's office in Florida also received a possible suspicious package; that is under investigation.

(ABC NEWS) - A pipe bomb loaded with explosive black powder was hand-delivered to the suburban New York City home of billionaire financier George Soros by a would-be attacker, prompting the FBI to launch an investigation into who would want to harm the philanthropist and political activist, a law enforcement source told ABC News on Tuesday.

The FBI photographed the device and then detonated it near Soros' home in Katonah, New York, and were analyzing fragments to determine why the bomb did not go off, the source said.

Soros has become a favorite target of right-wing groups due to his support of progressive causes and Democratic candidates, but authorities have not commented on whether any specific group is being investigated in regard to the incident.

The source emphasized that the device was no hoax.

The pipe bomb was about 6 inches long and was in an 8-by-10-inch envelope made to look like it was delivered through the mail, the source said. A postal inspector who examined the markings on the envelope determined it had been hand-delivered, the source said.

Soros' regular mail carrier was also interviewed, but did not recall delivering the package, the source said.

The bomb was found about 3:45 p.m. Monday in the mailbox of Soros' home by a property caretaker for the billionaire, the source said.

The caretaker told investigators that as he was walking back to the house he noticed the envelope looked suspicious, the source said. He dropped it in the woods away from the residence and called the Bedford Police Department, which sent officers to the scene.

The 88-year-old Soros was not home when the device was discovered, and no one was injured in the incident.

Lot's of information coming out now that these "so called" bombs were never meant to explode, some were missing a means to detonate entirely, and they were also INTENDED to be discovered.
