"The Alaska Republican party has requested that Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) submit any information she has that might

dissuade them from reprimanding her for opposing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation."

As AP reports (https://apnews.com/93cee785826a467a9f5bad4bcb75980a/Alaska-GOP-to-weigh-potential-action-against-Murkowski?utm_medium=APWestRegion&utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=Twitter), “Party Chairman Tuckerman Babcock says the committee could decide to issue a statement. Or he says it could withdraw support of Murkowski, encourage party officials to look for a replacement and ask that she not seek re-election as a Republican.”

**Babcock noted that the Alaska GOP has, in the past, withdrawn support for other Republicans who caucused with Democrats......

After Murkowski voted against cloture last Friday, indicating she would vote against Kavanaugh in the Senate vote for confirmation to the Supreme Court, Babcock said (https://www.ktuu.com/content/news/Chair-of-Alaska-Republican-party-shocked-Murkowski-voted-against-Kavanaugh-495315371.html)he was "surprised."

He added, "It's significant enough that I'm going to convene the whole state central committee, which is about 80 grassroots volunteers around the state, and we'll start drafting what our response should be.”

....It’s not just Kavanaugh. She’s voted against the Wall, ending Obamacare and supports abortion. Issue after issue she votes against the party and the wishes of the Republicans who elected her!

If she’s thrown out while she continue as an independent Senator until the next election?

If she runs as an independent in the next election would she pull enough votes to win against the R? Or split the R vote enough to open an opportunity for a D to take the seat?

No one wins a statewide race without conservatives backing them. Conservatives are the overwhelming majority in Alaska.

No, she's finished. Her dad, Frank Murkowski pissed off all conservatives in AK, and was crushed in the next election. That's what will happen here.

If only we could do a better job of weeding out the Rinos before we elect them. All over the country.

Fairplay - I see that last election was between her and a libertarian, however, the election before that she lost the Republican primary and was still able to take the seat just with ‘write-in’ votes? That seems particularly impressive.

Though whether or not the Kavanagh situation is more of an issue that the ‘tea-party’ movement is another thing altogether.

It was impressive that she pulled off a write-in campaign. But what I'm saying is that she still had conservatives voting for her, and that's not going to happen going forward.
