A great newsweek for reporters, every single day offered something that the readers would be coming running to read about or watch on the nightly news. And CNN rocks and rolls its way into 10th place!

That's what happens when Trump labels you "fake news", and rightfully so, for a few years. Others got into the task and labeled them as such as well - when and if they were caught once again tossing out and busted on lies - or on stories with no sources, or at best, anonymous sources. They have built up an extraordinary reputation since Trump ran and won office. Dang, they can't even beat the History channel or Hallmark channel, on this past news week!

CNN Comes in 10th Place in Primetime, Even After Banner News Week

CNN’s ratings last week once again fell short–not only of their competitors like Fox News and MSNBC–the network’s ratings fell behind HGTV, the Hallmark Channel, and the History channel last week.

According to AdWeek, CNN came in tenth place during prime time in the week of September 17-23, while cable news competitors Fox News and MSNBC came in first and third place, respectively.

ESPN came in second–while HGTV, NFL Network, USA, Hallmark Channel, the Investigation Discovery network, and the History channel all beat CNN.

During the day time, CNN came in seventh place, again losing to both Fox News and MSNBC, the two networks that took the top two spots.

AdWeek also reports that Fox News and MSNBC both posted double digit percentage gains in prime time and day time compared to the same week last year. CNN, meanwhile, dropped 11 percent in the ratings since 2017, and gained only 2.5 percent in primetime.

CNN’s bad performance in the ratings came after a banner news week, with controversy surrounding Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.

It wasn't horrible when Ted Turner was running things, at least not nearly as horrific as it is now.

Someone interviewed him a couple days ago, and he was lamenting how terrible his network has become. I suppose that would be awful to see your baby run into the dirt like it is. It must still be making money or someone would have fired all of them and started fresh.

Maybe we'll be seeing something along those lines soon. Losing to home shopping networks has to be pretty humiliating, lol.

Yes, I read that Turner specifically feels that CNN has become “too political”
