Report: Rod Rosenstein Offers Resignation to John Kelly
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly, according to a breaking news report.
Rosenstein offered his resignation following reports claiming the Justice Department’s second highest-ranked official considered secretly recording President Donald Trump and lobbying cabinet members to invoke the 25th amendment in a bid to remove him, Axios wrote Monday.
On Friday, The New York Times published a bombshell report alleging Rosenstein raised the prospect during a meeting with multiple FBI officials of taping President Trump without his knowledge “to expose the chaos consuming the administration.” Further, the Deputy Attorney General considered using said recordings to lobby Chief of Staff John Kelly and Attorney General Jeff Sessions to invoke the 25th Amendment.
According to the report, Rosenstein became fixated with the idea of having the president removed after becoming frustrated with the White House’s handling of FBI Director James Comey’s firing. Rosenstein reportedly told close associates that he would one day be “vindicated” for being ordered to draft the memo justifying Comey’s ouster.
The Times says Rosenstein’s remarks were detailed in a series of memos compiled by multiple FBI officials, including former FBI Dupoty Director Andrew McCabe, a claim an attorney for the fired official denies. Michael R. Bromwich, a member of McCabe’s legal team, told the paper that his client “has no knowledge of how any member of the media obtained those memos.”

Andrew McCabe Hits PANIC BUTTON: Rosenstein Departure Puts Mueller Investigation at Risk
News broke on Monday that scandal-plagued Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is resigning
Rosenstein is the active Attorney General and presides over the criminal Mueller investigation of President Trump.
Mueller signed a dishonest FISA warrant to spy on Trump in 2017.
Last week The New York Times reported that Rosenstein discussed wearing a wire in a plot to remove the sitting US president.
Former FBI Deputy Director reacted to the news by putting out a statement.
There is nothing more important to the integrity of law enforcement and the rule of law than protecting the investigation of Special Counsel Mueller. If the rumors of Deputy AG’s Rosenstein’s departure are true, I am deeply concerned it puts that investigation at risk.
For the record… A grand jury was impaneled earlier this month to investigate McCabe and his attempts to interfere in the 2016 election.

Trump, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein to meet on Thursday
(Reuters) - President Donald Trump and U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who oversees the special counsel investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 presidential election, will meet on Thursday to discuss Rosenstein’s future.
A source told Reuters that Rosenstein had spent the weekend contemplating whether he should resign after a New York Times report last week said he had suggested secretly recording Trump in 2017.
The White House announced the meeting on Monday after a flurry of conflicting reports about whether Rosenstein, a frequent target of Trump’s anger, would be leaving the post.

Trump to meet with Rod Rosenstein Thursday after conflicting reports about deputy attorney general's departure
-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is resigning, according to Axios, which cited a source familiar with the matter.
-NBC News, however, says Rosenstein will refuse to resign if asked to do so.
-President Donald Trump will meet with Rosenstein on Thursday, the White House said in response to the reports.
President Donald Trump will meet with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Thursday amid swirling reports that the No. 2 Justice Department official's departure is imminent.
"At the request of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, he and President Trump had an extended conversation to discuss the recent news stories," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
"Because the President is at the United Nations General Assembly and has a full schedule with leaders from around the world, they will meet on Thursday when the President returns to Washington, D.C."
Axios published a bombshell report Monday that Rosenstein is resigning, citing sources with knowledge.
But the report was contradicted by other news outlets, including from NBC News' Pete Williams, who reported that Rosenstein would not resign of his own accord after his off-the-cuff comments about possibly recording and removing Trump were revealed last week.
