Ga. State Rep. Resigns After Shouting N-Word on Sacha Baron Cohen Show

ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia lawmaker will resign after exposing himself and yelling racial slurs on provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen’s cable TV show, a spokesman for House Speaker David Ralston said.

Rep. Jason Spencer had vowed to serve out his term despite the fallout. Now he’ll step down at month’s end, spokesman Kaleb McMichen told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution late Tuesday.

In Sunday night’s broadcast of Cohen’s Showtime series “Who Is America?” Cohen poses as an Israeli military expert who persuades Spencer to take part in several outlandish exercises. The lawmaker is told they’re making a counterterrorism video.

Spencer repeatedly shouts a racial slur for black people after Cohen tells him the tactic is useful for drawing bystanders’ attention to an unfolding attack.

Yup, you always have some that will vote for their side no matter what, just to be in charge. But then sometimes you have things that just go over the top and quite difficult to defend in any manner.

But falling for this stuff is what is messed up to begin with. How far off do you have to be to fall for this guys shenanigans? And a few weeks back or so he had folks reading from boards - and about arming babies with bombs and what not. Do people not even "understand" when they read at the same time? WTF?

I'm not aware of other resignations, but then again, none have went as far as this idiot in talking about the N word and jumping up and down half naked. There is NOTHING that can convince me that he didn't at least half know WTF he was saying.
