I think that with Trump as President, the Navy has been able to dust off
the defensive Rules of Engagement which were pretty much shelved under Obama.

More than likely it depends on what the level of "harassment" is. They ALWAYS came out in the Straight of Hormuz to shake their fists at us and shadow us. That was under Reagan, Bush and Clinton. Mostly annoying. The ships would button up and go through the Straight at night. That meant the smoking lamp was secured :mad: Then you had to go all the way down into engineering if you knew someone and wanted to UA smoke :)

I doubt Iran has stopped "business as usual". I DO however doubt they'd try and board a Naval vessel like they did when O-blah-blah was CinC in name only.

ROE's for the U.S. Military, across the board has been changed to benefit OUR MILITARY now.

I don't recall us ever having to be fired on to engage. Imminent threat was the ROE and the Iranians knew it. They'd get only so close then back off.
