UPDATED (http://www.oann.com/u-s-judge-throws-out-lawsuit-against-trump-campaign-no-proof-of-collusion/#) 6:07 AM PT — Wed. July 4, 2018A federal judge recently tossed a lawsuit alleging the Trump campaign and the president’s former adviser Roger Stone conspired to hack the DNC.
Tuesday’s ruling states the president’s campaign was not involved in an elaborate conspiracy with WikiLeaks and the Russian government as alleged by three DNC members in the suit filed last year.
The decision validates what both the Trump administration and Roger Stone have repeated since the outset of the Russia investigation.
“I don’t know if I’m a person of interest or an interesting person,” said Stone. “I certainly committed no crimes, there is no evidence of Russian collusion, there is no proof that I received anything whatsoever from WikiLeaks or Assange.’
DNC staffer Scott Comer — who lead the suit along with the leftist group Protect Democracy — responded to the ruling, saying they disagree with the dismissal and plan to refile the case elsewhere.
This comes as Stone, a long-time supporter of the president, is being investigated by both the Senate and the Mueller investigation for similar collusion allegations.
When the former Trump campaign aide met up with One America News last month, he discussed the future of his role in the investigations.
“They broadened their document request to us to include any documents pertaining to this area,” he explained. “We’re cooperating and I’m sure when I testify I’ll be asked about it — I really believe the testimony (http://www.oann.com/u-s-judge-throws-out-lawsuit-against-trump-campaign-no-proof-of-collusion/#) should be in public, not behind closed doors.”
Although Stone has vowed to comply with Senate requests for documents relating to his alleged involvement with Russian hackers, he has expressed resistance to speaking with Mueller’s team after several members of President Trump’s former campaign team were charged with lying to the FBI.
In any case, the move to dismiss yet another case against the Trump administration comes as a relief to conservatives, many of whom are demanding an end to Mueller’s probe after two-years without producing any evidence.
