UPDATED 1:06 PM — Tue. June 3, 2018The former IT aide to Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is pleading guilty to federal bank fraud charges.
Imran Awan reached a plea deal with prosecutors Tuesday in a case that has drawn interest from Republicans in Washington.
The plea deal means the prosecution will drop (http://www.oann.com/former-it-aide-for-wasserman-schultz-pleads-guilty-to-bank-fraud-in-deal/#) charges against his wife after Awan admitted to making a false statement on a loan (http://www.oann.com/former-it-aide-for-wasserman-schultz-pleads-guilty-to-bank-fraud-in-deal/#) application (http://www.oann.com/former-it-aide-for-wasserman-schultz-pleads-guilty-to-bank-fraud-in-deal/#).
Prosecutors said they investigated allegations of misconduct against the Democrat staffer as part of his role in Congress, but determined the charges were warranted.
Awan’s attorney is seeking a probation-only sentence without having to pay fines or restitution.

Another slap on the wrist for a Dem. Why do we even bother? The law apparently only applies to the right.
