Hollywood was basically built by European Jews during the mid-late 1910s. I don't know the exact reason behind it. Seems to me there are several. Film making was a lot more advanced in Europe that in the US. Americans weren't interested. Most of the original big studios were owned by Jewish immigrants.

The people in Hollywood don't live in the real world. They have their own special little la-la land and if they're child stars or second generation, forget any sense of reality.

Our propaganda machine was every bit as effective as Goebbel's during WWII. It was patriotic to serve. You had to explain why you didn't, and being against teh war was unamerican. Did politics play into that? It was a Democrat war. Being a Dem wasn't an excuse to not go. Republicans at the time were isolationists and completely against the war.

Factor in the fact that Democrats back then would be considered ultra-rightwing warmongers today. Democrats even when I was a kid were more conservative than so-called conservatives are today. Many of those stars pissed off the studio heads by signing up. Ever seen the "wannabe" movies made during the war with the closest looking thing to but no really the original starring? :laugh:

Hollywood was not the big payday then for most actors under studio contract then either. Why WOULD anyone leave today the way they get paid to join the military for peanuts?

I don't fault them THAT. I fault them running their mouths about the military when they know nothing about it, and just talking blowing left wing smoke in general that bears no resemblance to reality.
