A California city is taking a bold move against the state’s sanctuary policies, saying it intends to let local law enforcement work with federal immigration authorities.

Pretty good arguments. A lot of it we've already said. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If CA can refuse to follow Federal Law, then Los Alamitos can refuse to follow CA law. They basically are voting to opt out of CA's new law.
Edit: And of course the ACLU is threatening to take Los Alamitos to court for voting to follow Federal law.
