The deadline to pass a legislative fix to DACA is here, but Congress is still scrambling to reach a bipartisan agreement on a deal.
However, the program (http://www.oann.com/daca-program-largely-intact-due-to-courts-as-congress-misses-march-5th-deadline/#) is largely intact despite congressional inaction thanks to the courts.
The March 5 deadline now has less urgency after the Supreme Court (http://www.oann.com/daca-program-largely-intact-due-to-courts-as-congress-misses-march-5th-deadline/#) allowed rulings on the program to head into appeals.
Courts in New York and California ruled President Obama’s 2012 executive order (http://www.oann.com/daca-program-largely-intact-due-to-courts-as-congress-misses-march-5th-deadline/#) creating DACA was legal, freezing President Trump’s repeal.
The program gives people brought across the border illegally as children two-year temporary legal status to work, study, and live in the U.S.
The complicated status of nearly 700,000 so-called ‘Dreamers’ continues as they ask politicians to act to ensure they are shielded from deportation.
President Trump has been pushing for Congress to take over the program, but the Senate and the House have failed to agree on new legislation the president would sign.
President Trump blames the stalled immigration talks on Democrats who refuse his offers of compromise combined with funds for border security.
Democrats even caused a government shutdown over the issue in January, but no legislation has been enacted.
However, many activists are blaming the Republicans who control both Congress and the presidency, and are urging action on Capitol Hill.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration has boosted the approval rate of renewals from previous DACA recipients to 98-percent, but some people signing (http://www.oann.com/daca-program-largely-intact-due-to-courts-as-congress-misses-march-5th-deadline/#) on to the program for the first time are still having trouble..
Fewer than 150 new applicants have been approved since October.
Another 22,000 are waiting with no protection from deportation in the meantime
House and Senate majority leaders maintain they will only put forward legislation President Trump will sign.

This is completely unsat. The AG CAN do something, even if the Supreme court is too p*ssy to. Double down on enforcing existing immigration law. Illegal is illegal. Deported. Bye.
DACA is unconstitutional regardless what some legislating from the bench leftwinglosernuts rule. I would go after THEM too for blatantly ignoring the Constitution. They can ties THAT up in court. In the meantime, leave without pay.
