Yeah. He drinks Pearl Beer in Lone Wolf McQuade. The brewery is here in San Antonio. He walks up to the bartender and asks what kind of beer the guy's got. He rattles off Dose Equis, and some others and Chuck says No Pearl? Forget it them. Barbara Carerra walks up and says "bottom shelf, Sam", and the bartender produces a can of Pearl.

I almost fell out of my seat first time I saw that. The ex and I saw it in San Bernardino, CA and just busted out laughing. Pearl is what teenagers with no money drank. Pearl and Lone Star :laugh:. The movie treated it like it was imported from Scotland or something :laugh: We used to scrape up and get a couple of six packs of Pearl or Lone Star and sit under the bridge and talk about all the girls we never got and weren't likely to when I was in HS

I'll have to admit, that when I wasn't on base at MacDill, I was at the beach most of the time, and ya... I did wear some pretty short cut off denims... but then WHO DIDN'T? When you live in Florida on the coast, you go to the beach, and when you're living on E-5 pay, you just cut off an old pair of jeans.

Back in '85 that's what we wore. ;)

Back in '85 that's what we wore. ;)I know all about cut-offs. Last year's school clothes. AND FL beaches. AND E-5 pay. Only my mom, brother and I "helped" my dad with his E-5 pay :laugh:.

Only MY cut-offs had a few more inches of material than Chuck's. Homey didn't do hot pants :laugh:
