In FL, you can sleep on the beach, pier, dock wherever you happen to "fall asleep" in your shorts. In CA on the coast, you have to wear long pants and L/S shirt at night. Used to run on the beach there every day. When the little fussbuckets were whining and bitching I'd run their asses right into the water so they could bitch some more and freeze their asses off. Amazing how quit a platoon gets when their hoo-ya's jump into their throats on contact with freezing-ass water. :)

Here, it's not called going to the "beach". It's called the "coast". We go to the Coast. Padre Island. It's nice there as well. Anywhere you get far enough away from people is. The entire coastline is beautiful except where you run into cities. Closer you get, the crappier it gets.

Have you tried he beaches much?

Kelp beds, especially north of Santa Barabara.
Get caught in them and you are dead unless you are a good swimmer.

Water is only 55 at best past Ventura.
82 degree body temp is a hyothermia level.

The only 82 degree water I have known is off Cabo San Lucas or
the Atlantic Coast in NJ, NY or VA.

I like south padre. vacation ended memorial weekend which is when their season starts. The population seemed to triple overnight. Apparently they have fireworks every weekend throughout the summer.

Sad and pathetic is the reality that in the dem/lib world you are a winner if you announce your hatred of the Republican, Conservatives and Christians, while you lie about your magnificent tender hearts and complete support for the common man..

True winners they are not but master deceivers they are. -TyrI agree. I DO use the term "loser" at times, but I never really describe things in terms of being a winner in contrast with a loser because it is subjective.

For instance, I don't care much for material possessions. Most of the things I have that I care about are functional. A person who gauges winning and losing by how much crap he has accumulated might see otherwise. He has stuff just to have it because it exists and the Jones's next door have one.

Like I said. Hard to call someone a winner, or loser for that matter if they don't give a crap about what you hold dear.

Funky. I gotta disagree with you. I am a winner. I have survived cancer, a heart attack, two wars, and two EMT's who brought me back to life TWICE with CPR. Then I have been blessed with a lady who has been by my side for 48 years. Given us two son's. And I can brag about having SIX of the greatest Grandchildren any Grandparent could ever ask for.
It wouldn't matter if I was dirt poor, didn't have a home, or a car. I have a FAMILY to keep me feeling SUCCESSFUL until the day I die. In my book. THAT'S A WINNING COMBINATION.
