H'm. 'Not good', said he, stating the blindingly obvious. I've yet to see any reference to this in British media.

Even I know the Port Authority bus terminal (fairly close to the Milford Plaza hotel, if memory serves) ... used to buy my newspapers there, during my visits to New York.

Drummond, the terminal is in Times Square, 42nd street.

Reports now say the bomb went off prematurely, suspect injured. Also reports he had on 'suicide vest' though whether real or fake is undetermined.

And we still have no investigation into that crap the traitor obama was pulling by bringing in un-vetted muzzy bastards.
As well as to why they were by a large majority young fighting age muzzy males........ the very group known to comprise muslim terrorist jihadists.
That the damn traitor is not in prison is a shame on this nation, IMHO.. Tyr

So, three injured (plus the culprit, who doesn't count), the Bangladeshi is saying ISIS inspired him.

I would like to see every Muslim here sent back to whatever Sandland they come from. Oh, wait, is that not PC?

I so don't care.

Rep. Pete King: More Vetting, Surveillance Needed After NYC Attack

The time for being politically correct is over, and more vetting and surveillance are needed to help prevent attacks like the rush hour pipe bombing near New York City's Port Authority bus terminal early Monday, Rep. Pete King said Monday.

"We have to have very strict security here at home," the New York Republican told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" program.

"We need the extra vetting. We need to have monitoring. We need to have surveillance. You can't afford to be politically correct."

At about 7:30 a.m. ET, a pipe bomb strapped to a man inspired by ISIS went off in a subway corridor in Times Square, injuring him and slightly wounding three others.

Cameras showed the man walking through the passageway when the bomb went off, and investigators said it was not clear if the detonation was intentional or accidental.

The suspect has been identified as Akayed Ullah, 27, after law enforcement officials said he was inspired by ISIS,but had not been in direct contact with the terrorist group.

NYC Terror Suspect Inspired by ISIS, Made Bomb in His Apartment

A man inspired by the Islamic State group set off a crude pipe bomb strapped to his body Monday in a crowded subway corridor near Times Square, injuring the man, slightly wounding three others and sending New York commuters fleeing in terror through the smoky passageway.

Surveillance cameras captured the man walking casually through the crowded passage when the bomb went off at 7:20 a.m. amid a plume of white smoke, which cleared to show the man sprawled on the ground and commuters scattering to get away. Investigators said it was not clear if he set the bomb off intentionally or prematurely.

"This was an attempted terrorist attack," Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters. "Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals."

The suspect, who was identified as 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, was being treated at a hospital for burns to his hands and abdomen. The others who were injured suffered ringing in the ears and headaches.

Law enforcement officials said Ullah was inspired by the Islamic State group but had apparently not had any direct contact with the group and probably acted alone.

5 Things to Know About the NYC Bombing

An explosion at New York City's Port Authority Bus Terminal that occurred on Monday morning is believed to have been a terror-related incident, authorities said.

The explosion that injured four and led to an evacuation was caused by an "improvised low-tech explosive device" that was detonated in the 42nd Street passageway between 7th and 8th avenues, NBC News reported.

Here are five things to know about the explosion:

1. A suspect has been arrested.

Police have a 27-year-old suspect identified as Akayed Ullah, in custody, Time reported.

He is being treated for lacerations and burns to his hands and abdomen at Bellevue Hospital, according to CNN.

2. The bomb was strapped to the suspect's body.

Authorities think Ullah intentionally detonated a pipe bomb-based device that was strapped to his body with Velcro and zip ties during rush hour, NBC News reported.

There have been reports that the bomb may have gone off prematurely.

3. Four people were injured.

Ullah suffered the worst injuries but three others sustained minor injuries related to the explosion, including ear ringing and severe headache, Deadline reported.

4. The incident was an act of terror.

Based on preliminary information, former NYPD commissioner Bill Bratton said that the explosion was carried out in the name of ISIS, NBC News revealed.

Police Commissioner James O'Neill said it was a "terror-related incident," CNN noted, while Mayor Bill de Blasio confirmed it as an "attempted terrorist attack," according to Time.

"Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals," de Blasio said.

Deadline noted that the suspect made a declaration of allegiance but authorities have not confirmed any additional information.

5. The suspect was working alone.

Mayor de Blasio said the suspect was believed to have acted alone, BBC said.

According to ABC News, Ullah lived in Brooklyn but is originally from Bangladesh. He has been living in the U.S. for seven years.

Got to love the media. It got reported here that a bomb exploded on the NYC subway

I love the response. More vetting. How about closing the damned door? THAT kind of vetting works 99% of the time.

Soon after I last posted, the BBC began reports about this, and it became a main news item.

In true BBC 'politically correct' fashion, the BBC's description of this terrorist omitted the word 'terrorist' (.. as always ..). He was referred to as an 'attacker'.

The BBC reports others' usage of the word 'terrorist', but never initiates that description themselves. The BBC said that there was an explosion 'in a tunnel'.

Anyway .. it was one main news item. It became overshadowed by news of the death of Keith Chegwin ....

We can't legislate through emotions. Call to end the program of immigration used in this case is not dissimilar than the call to ban certain weapons after an active shooter event.
