Trump Informs Abbas, Jordan's Abdullah He Intends to Move U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem
U.S. President Donald Trump told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Jordan's King Abdullah that he plans to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Tuesday, according to Abbas' spokesman and Jordanian reports. Trump also called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Egyptian President*Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi to inform him of the decision.
Senior U.S. officials have said Trump is likely on Wednesday to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital while delaying relocating the embassy from Tel Aviv for another six months, though he is expected to order his aides to begin planning such a move immediately. The officials said, however, that no final decisions have been made.
Following the call, Abbas urged the Pope and the leaders of Russia, France and Jordan to intervene against Trump's declared intention to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, Abbas's spokesman said.*

During the call with Trump, Abbas warned that the action will have "dangerous consequences," said Abbas' spokesman, adding that "the Palestinian stance is determined and steadfast - there will not be a Palestinian state without East Jerusalem as its capital according to decisions by the international community." Abbas was holding an emergency meeting in his bureau following the phone conversation with Trump.
Abdullah also warned Trump of the decision's repercussions on Middle East security and stability. Abdullah pledged he would thwart any American initiative to renew the peace process and would encourage resistance among Muslims and Christians alike.

Turkey president Erdogan tells Trump declaring Jerusalem Israel's capital is a 'red line' for Muslims
City is home to major Muslim, Christian and Jewish holy sites
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said Donald Trump's plan to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel is a "red line" for Muslims and could see him breaking off diplomatic relations with the country.
Mr Erdogan told parliament his country's response "could go as far as us cutting diplomatic ties with Israel."
He also said he would convene a summit meeting of countries of the Organisation for Islamic Cooperation to oppose any move recognising Jerusalem.
American officials have said Mr Trump may recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital this week as a way to offset his likely decision to delay his campaign promise of moving the US embassy there.
His point-man on the Middle East, son-in-law Jared Kushner, later said the US President hasn't decided yet what steps to take regarding Jerusalem.
The diplomatic adviser of President Mahmoud Abbas said the Palestinian leadership would "stop contacts" with the United States if Mr Trump recognised Jerusalem and Israel's capital.

Arab warnings mount as U.S. suggests move to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel
JERUSALEM — Arab nations and Palestinian officials have warned of dire consequences if the United States recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, including potential unrest and an end to the peace process, amid last-minute lobbying to prevent President Trump from making the move.*
In a late-night call Sunday, Jordan’s foreign minister, Ayman Safadi, warned Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that such a decision could “trigger anger across the Arab and Muslim world, fuel tension and jeopardize peace efforts,” according to Jordan’s state news agency.
Egypt’s foreign minister, Sameh Shoukry, also discussed with Tillerson the “possible negative impacts” on peace, according to a ministry spokesman. He asked that Tillerson avoid taking decisions that could “stir tensions in the region.”*
Turkey said a change in policy would be a*“major catastrophe.”*Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki, meanwhile, called for an emergency meeting of the 22 members of the Arab League, which is expected to take place Tuesday.*

What does it accomplish other than inflaming tensions?
The Jewish people consider Jerusalem a VERY important part of their history, and want it to be their "eternal" capital. So it's more than really just moving the embassy.
Probably, while different, but why Palestinians also find it to be so important to them as well.

Amazing that how when it comes to Muslims that it always devolves into violence somehow, and it's just generally accepted universally. The Shiites and Shia or whatever, killing for thousands of years, no one cares. Hamas and others killing in Palestine, most don't care. The Muslims and the violence towards women, most don't blink an eye. Muslims around the world (Iran) will kill and torture gay people, and folks don't blink. But here in the USA, if a white conservative even looks at a gay person the wrong way...
It's just odd that muslims and their violence and things like that with women, and gay people - it's almost ignored sometimes. It's literally insane that it's ignored and they're often given a pass. It's their culture BS.

U.S. Braces for violence at embassies around Muslim world as Donald Trump nears Jerusalem move
The U.S. government’s diplomatic staff braced for violent protests around the Muslim world as speculation mounted that President Donald Trump planned to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and recognize the city as Israel’s capital.
Trump’s stated intention to move the embassy has been met with anger in the Arab world for months—the move is controversial due to the city's significance to Jews, Muslims and Christians. Diplomats fear these tensions will come to a head if Trump follows through on his campaign pledge.
The warning over violence came in the form of two classified cables to staff in the past week, according to Politico.
The State Department had not responded to a request for comment at the time of writing. Employees at the U.S. embassy in Amman, Jordan, and the U.S. consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, declined to comment on the matter. Jerusalem police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld was not available for comment.
“The impending Jerusalem announcement has me very worried about the possibility of violent responses that could affect embassies,” one State Department official told Politico. “I hope I’m wrong.”

I heard Erdogan bellowing this tonight on TV, but it doesn't make a lot of sense: the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital and the Turks break relations with .............Israel?? Why not with us? Huh.
My first thought was there is likely to be trouble --- more terrorism in Israel, at least --- but my second thought was, that Trump sure does keep his campaign promises. And FAST. What a year.

Trump made the campaign promise that he'd move it. I expect him to fulfill it.
Congress resolved to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem a long time ago, back in the '90s if I remember right.
It's Israel's Capitol, our embassy should be there.
The palestinians - errr... I mean, the displaced Jordanians, Egyptians, Syrians and Lebanese who were abandoned after their countries attempted to wipe out Israel and lost massive tracts of land, abandoned those citizens who found themselves on the wrong side of the new border in the interest of home-grown guerrilla resistance.
War is a bitch when you lose, and lose badly.
Those 'palestinians' can pound sand. Israel needs to build a wall around their whole country and summarily deport all of them back to their former countries.
Worrying about what a bunch of terrorists think is stupid. They're going to want all Americans and Israelis dead no matter what we do. Fuck em.

What does it accomplish other than inflaming tensions?
This is a good question.
Well, as I said before, it's another Trump campaign promise he is keeping. People are quickly figuring out that he means to do what he says, and that includes foreign powers, which could make backing off hostiles easier.
I am assuming that Israel WANTED this?? At this time? Does anyone know? I don't see any articles on that important issue.
There was of course no percentage in "peace talks." That has never worked for a very long time. What I learned from playing Dark Souls much of this past year is that getting better and better and trying harder and harder with what isn't working is not how to beat the game. Instead try something completely different. Throw things up in the air, when they come down they'll be in a different pattern. Maybe Trump is trying that.
Another possibility is that it's a plain, clear hard line: we don't like you, Muslims: we're not going to give you what you want anymore. With war against Iran and Pakistan closing in, along with North Korea, maybe it is best to make that clear.
And saying Jerusalem is the capital is not the same as moving our embassy, which apparently is going to take time, time, time.............. maybe wait till the middle of a war, when it can't get worse anyway.

No harm is done by us announcing such a change in perception: it's entirely virtual, nothing changes.
If the Muslims respond with riots, assassinations, killings, terrorism -- well, that continues to show the world and Trump haters what barbarians they are. It does nothing but strengthen Trump's anti-Muslim position, I suspect.
Also, one article I read said that it signals the end to the "two-state solution." Which has never, in decades, had any hope of agreement even though it favors the Muslims and would leave Israel less defensible. It's high time we became functioning allies of Israel rather than quasi-enemies as Obama and so many other presidents have been.
I think it's terribly important on every level to know who one's allies are and befriend them, not attack them.

We all know that - that will happen for surely. Hell, that may happen anyway, if the sun comes up on the day they make the move!
Nothing to do with Trump as some say, as this is something that has been discussed for a long, long time. But as with other things, he's the one with the cajones to make the final move is all. And if so, and if they respond like that - then you are correct, they will only show the world their true colors, that many of us have seen already and know already.
But will the rest of the world seeing such actions make a difference? I doubt it. And I think they would do this fighting/violence for quite awhile over such a move.

Of course Trump will start a war: they all do, and preferably early in their term, so as to back off a lot of the hostiles. This is normal. I'm thinking this one will be against North Korea, but we'll probably have to whack Iran too and maybe Pakistan, and during the fracas Israel can settle some hashes.

Well, you need to stop acting as though one comment on one subject was intended to be applied to a different comment when that's not the case. You said you defended hard working people, I pointed out president Trump was an incredibly hard working man but I didn't hear you defending him, and that has absolutely nothing to do with whoever saying anything about annihilating muslims.
Keep everything straight and quit this little throw everything in the bucket game and things will go a lot smoother.
Pray tell, what conservative philosophy do you disagree with?
You left a couple parts out. I don't think Trump is honest or decent. In any case, I will defend his ability to exist and have a difference in opinion. That is counter to the remark I was rebutting and the entire point of my point.

Are you aware of what's happening in Myanmar right now?
Yes. Muslims from Bangladesh have been flooding in to take over the country, just like Muslims from all over northern Africa flooded into Europe starting summer 2015.
These invasions MUST be repelled or the world will be forcibly taken over by Muslims. I totally support the Burmese expulsion of the Rohingya and think we should be doing that also.

How do I ignore the violence? I don't gives passes to some of the horrible and backward practices in ME culture and islam. What I am against is a few member's opinions that we should commit genocide on the world's muslim population. That is all I am saying here.
Please, please speak with me - man to man, post to post. You have a habit of speaking about how a few members speak meanly of you, but then you turn around and do the same to others, or bring over posts/topics from others. Just post with me based on what we are quoting and speaking with one another about. Capiche?
You bring up and/or post about so many things about gay people here. Especially so if a (R) is somehow busted in some sort of gay behavior, or worse, if it's some sort of harassment or abuse. And of course the Dems in general, and Dem supporters, of course will always pounce upon anyone busted in any types of activities.
Then the Christian aspect, where people seem to love to point out when someone of the Christian faith gets busted doing something. Like a cake "abuse" towards a gay folk. FACT is, folks have given 75x more attention towards gay folks getting denied cakes - than the abuse and killings and murders and radical killings around the world by muslims. You don't think that's a little weird? A little hypocritical?
I know you'll say that one is in America, and the others are international. But still. The amount of radical killings by Islam around the world, just since 9/11 alone. It's disgusting. And then folks like Tyr are literally sick and tired about it. And then folks like you perhaps are at the other end of the spectrum, and pretty much have not spoken anything at all about it.

Thirty two thousand, one hundred and ninety three attacks by Islamic nutjobs since 9/11. Do you understand that? And how it may make folks like Tyr and myself a little pissed off? Do you know how many people overall that many attacks have killed?

I understand you are pissed off. That doesn't mean I let calls of genocide go unchallenged. Most of the islamic violence is muslim vs muslim. You care about as much for that as you care about black on black violence.

What has president Trump lied about?
I won't even go into the decent part, since you support sexual perverts, I don't think you're definition of decent is worth discussing.

I didn't say you had to do anything. In that respect, I simply stated that you post member to member is all.
A lot is muslim vs muslim, and those are people too. Likely those not wanting to be in the radical side are being killed. Regardless, death is death. Just as in places like Chicago and Detroit, SO many black folks getting killed. And yes, I try to always point out the amount of deaths and shootings in places like that too. And so many of those killed in places like that are also innocent as well. Many, in fact, are caught up in the crossfire. It's sad.
And to claim I don't care? Fuck you, Pete. Seriously man. Every day I wipe the slate clean with you and others, and work anew in posts forgetting any grudges or whatever from the past. But you, you can kindly go fuck yourself via a straw. Maybe you can stick some bubble gum or something in the straw to tighten it up and help you fit a little better.
I go back and forth hanging out with a gang of about 8 muslim guys. I'm forever fixing their computers and chilling with them. Admittedly, they truly piss me off from time to time with their points of view, then may not hang for awhile, but I always end up going back. :(
I have zero reason to not like black folks. And I don't know a single person in places like Detroit or Chicago. But why in the hell would that man that I don't care about whether or not innocent folks are getting killed out there, and oddly, it seems for years ongoing, that a whole lot isn't being done to put a stop to it - mostly gang violence in some areas.

I don't know where all this is coming from. I simply challenged the view of a muslim genocide from a member. I don't know how that is debatable or why you ignore it and just say people are pissed.

Yet you support Iran who wants to wipe Israel off the map.
And Palestinians who want to drive the Jews into the Mediterranean Sea.

Wow. Quite a moment.
What I find interesting is that Congress passed a law regarding Israel's capitol in 1995...and the DNC has made it part of their party platform in 2008 and 2016. There is a loophole in the 1995 which allows the President to waive the requirement (which every President has done until now)...

Trump has more guts than his predecessors.
or at least more than those since 1995.

The Rohingya have been in Myanmar since the 12th century... and it's not repulsion, it's genocide.
They kind of have to be trying to kill them all for it to be genocide.
The Turks trying to kill out the Armenians was genocide; Hitler saying repeatedly he wanted to kill all the Jews was a try at genocide. The Hutus certainly gave genocide a good try against the Tutsis.
The Buddhists are trying to drive out the Rohingya, and more power to them. It's nonsense to say they've been in Myanmar since the 12th century!! Everybody knows they've been flooding in now, currently. Floods of illegal immigrants from Mexico to us, Islamic lands to Europe, Muslims flooding into Burma and Thailand --- mass migrations are a huge problem in the 21st century. Islam will take over the world if we don't stop this. They are certainly trying to, and violently. As they have since well before the 12th century: since in fact the 7th century.
