The major flaw in your reasoning is that there's not only empirical evidence of DNA mutation, but also that we've been able to reproduce it in a laboratory.
uhh....no, they haven't.....they have been able to replicate it and alter it, but they have not produced a DNA structure that works, simply an inert model of it......

So what? If it's already possible to replicate it and alter it, there's very little reason to bother trying to build it directly from the molecules.
I suppose that, somewhere in the world, somebody is working on a simulated primordial soup from which they're spontaneously trying to create DNA. And eventually, they will.

The more important question is, why do you scoff at the attempt to gain scientific understanding?
