“There’s a time and season for everything, and right now it’s a season of war against the GOP establishment.” With that, Steve Bannon declared war on the GOP establishment at the Values Voters Summit in Washington, D.C., to a packed ballroom of cheering pro-life, pro-family conservative voters.
The Saturday morning session of the three-day conference could be described as the Steve Bannon show with Dr. Sebastian Gorka as his warm-up act. “Relax, take a deep, breath and count to 10,” Gorka instructed the crowd in regards to the absence of he and Bannon from the White House. “Everything is going to be ok, “ the former deputy assistant to the president added. Dr. Gorka went on to assure values voters that it’s not about the last eight months, but the next eight years in his charming British dialect.
However, it was Steve Bannon who brought the crowd to their feet time and time again as he outlined his agenda to counter the establishment Republican Party with a wave of grassroots campaigns leveraging candidates like Judge Roy Moore in Alabama. Time and time again throughout his speech, Mr. Bannon referred to the Alabama primary in which outsider Roy Moore ousted the establishment-backed incumbent “Big” Luther Strange for the Alabama GOP Senate nomination.
