Trump won't pull the US out of the Paris climate change agreement after all: Report
by Kyle Feldscher | Sep 16, 2017, 4:53 PM
President Trump won't be pulling the United States out of the Paris Agreement on climate change after all, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The paper reported Saturday afternoon an official with the European Union said Trump will review the terms of the deal for the United States, but the United States will not be pulling out of the deal to renegotiate.
"The U.S. has stated that they will not renegotiate the Paris accord, but they will try to review the terms on which they could be engaged under this agreement," European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cańete told the Journal.
The announcement comes about three months after Trump held a ceremony announcing the United States would be leaving the agreement. The first-of-its-kind agreement would see all the world's nations, save for three, commit to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit the rate of global warming.
"I am fighting every day for the great people of this country. Therefore, in order to fulfill my solemn duty to protect America and its citizens, the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord," Trump said at the time.
Many scientists believe the burning of fossil fuels causes climate change.
Trump is notoriously a climate change doubter and has in the past called the idea of manmade global warming "bullshit" and "a hoax" started by the Chinese in order to harm American manufacturing.
He has not gone on record recently stating what his current position is on whether climate change is real and caused by human activities. When asked earlier this week by reporters on Air Force One, Trump ignored the question.
The White House denied the report.
"There has been no change in the United States' position on the Paris agreement. As the President has made abundantly clear, the United States is withdrawing unless we can re-enter on terms that are more favorable to our country," a spokesperson said in a statement.

It's still a bad deal. The U.S.....WE THE PEOPLE are forced to pay for other nations who who won't be following the Paris agreement. In other words. WE GET SHAFTED.
Had to put it that way but...THAT'S THE TRUTH!

I have little doubt that, before all is said and done, Trump will betray all those who voted for him based on his campaign promises and rhetoric...

Time will tell. The only thing I am fairly confident predicting is that chaos will likely continue,

Sounds to me based on the last few lines, that the media is taking luxuries , again, and reporting things as fact. I wouldn't predict things, nor the future, based on a story that the WH denies.

I don't think this decision is final... in fact, I don't think this is a decision at all. The WSJ has been fairly notorious for being fake news.
But we'll see.

Some more from Tillerson. I wouldn't mind depending those circumstances...
Tillerson: Trump Open to Staying in Paris Climate Accord, ‘Under the Right Conditions’
Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said President Donald Trump would be open to remaining in the Paris climate accord.
Tillerson said, “The position is being led and developed by Gary Cohn over at the National Economic Council. I think if you recall, the president also said, look, we are willing to work with partners in the Paris climate accord. If we can construct a set of terms that we believe is fair and balanced for the American people and recognizes our economy, our economic interests, relative to others, in particular, the second-largest economy in the world, China.”
He added, “I think under the right conditions, the president said he’s open to finding those conditions where we can remain engaged with others on what we all agree is still a challenging issue.”

The media wants trump supporters to give up on trump. From what I saw in the comments to the daily caller article, it isn't happening.

I agree. Haven't seen one thing that would make his core leave him. Not a thing.

Kathianne. Why is it that you think ONLY the Trump core agree's with him? Isn't that almost sounding like Hillary speaking, and calling everyone who didn't vote for her..DEPLORABLE???
The MSM, and liberals still refuse to admit that there are MILLIONS of other Americans who don't tow the DEMOCRAT-LIBERAL-LEFTIST-SOCIALIST line. Until they do. They will continue to cry, and sound like little, crybabies.

His "core" is the "core" of America.
However, if he gives amnesty to "dreamers," which would be a bigger amnesty than Reagan did, that will put a crack in his support. In fact I'd predict he doesn't win a second term if he does that.

The core won't leave him because this is who we have chosen. There's no turning back, for now. We can't very well completely abandon someone and expect anything to get done.
But some that find things wrong with stuff he does, and then his core doesn't, we often get accused of ignoring thing. But nope, it's more like we support many of those things. And when he screws up, I speak up, but then it's time to move one. I can only speak for myself, and I won't leave him as I've barely seen him do wrong or too terribly bad. That stance bothers people, and I'm not really sure why. It's like some get angry or whatever when folks don't share their anger.
Then again, I don't consider myself part of any "core", as I'm just a single voter who looks at issues and decides accordingly.

Anyway, to the thread...

Top White House Official Gave The Clearest Rebuttal Of WSJ’s Paris Accord Report
White House chief economic adviser Gary Cohn reiterated the Trump administration’s position that it would pull out of the Paris agreement on climate change unless they got a better deal, during a meeting with foreign energy ministers.
“We are withdrawing, and we made that as clear as it can be. I don’t know how to say it any more clearly,” Gary Cohn told energy ministers at a Monday meeting in New York City, sources told Politico.
Cohn’s statements come after a weekend of confusion surrounding President Donald Trump’s stance on the Paris accord, which the Obama administration joined in 2016 with a pledge to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
The confusion was sparked by a Wall Street Journal report claiming the Trump administration would not withdraw from the agreement and instead would submit a less ambitious plan to cut emissions scientists blame for global warming.
The White House was quick to rebut the reports, and WSJ walked back its initial report, but some confusion remained.
