I wouldn't say the point of Kath's post was that Lowes is better than HD or vice versa. Of course that will often vary store to store. The point is rather to show the importance of good customer service.

Exactly right. I sort of figured those picking a 'side' just hadn't read the article. If the first manager's decision had stood, there never would have been an article. It was the second that not only lost an over $1k sale, but likely lost a customer for life.

I would at least go back and find first manager and let him know what happened, or let corporate know. That 2nd manager needs to be fired or at least written up.

Here in Tucson both give a 10% discount to military.

On another note, or local Chipotle gives 50% discount to military, fire department and LE. Tucson is military friendly just about everywhere you go. Even my dentist.
