Why on earth did he say the war on terror was a phoney war? it just doesnt make any sense

I could see the latter interpretation of what he was saying, but if that was so why didnt he just say it?

Newt has issues. He is playing a very dangerous game if he is even thinking about running for President.

Newt has issues. He is playing a very dangerous game if he is even thinking about running for President.

I really like Newt, but lately he has just been saying alot of things that make it difficult for me to take him as a serious candidate.
