Thanks Kat .. Great to find this and enjoy..
I absolutely love that song, always have since I first heard it. And this presentation ,with video is truly great..
Called my son over to watch and listen-- he needs to see what some people do to help others.
Even risking their lives. Plus he needs to listen to quality bands, great bands, not any of this new age rap crap.-Tyr

I'm Navy/Marine Corps. But El deserves his props. What a sh*tty thankless job. The lyrics mean one thing to me. The fact they could pull that off on a ship another. The fact that they'd go do it means a LOT.
My kids grew up without me. And I grew up without them.

Thanks Gunny. That means a lot. Rarely do our folks get the recognition they deserve.

The heartaches the same, but I got to move forward. If I had to deal with floaters and that kind of crap, I'd be insane. More than I already am.
Unless you've been there, no one knows what it's like to try to save someone you can't.

I have worked successes - quite a few. I have worked lost causes because it was the right thing to do.
They all cannot be rescued - that is just reality. Some responses were with the understanding that it
might be too late, but still made the effort with some hope for a positive ending.
I was a WSI as well...the attempt to assist grows in you.

Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Some of the skills taught in that include water survival.
I also had/have the Boys Scouts of America equivalent - Aquatics Director from the National Camping
School.

Elessar ... thank you for everything you do/did .. and you are so right about can't save them all. My ex-FIL was a Captain in Coast Guard and through him I learned a lot about how hard it is when you know it's not going to be a good day on the water but you go anyway.
And, how dangerous it can be when you come across drug runners and smugglers.
