Muslim groups are working to destroy American society in a "spiritual battle of good and evil," says Roy White, chapter president of ACT for America, a group that believes sharia, the guiding text of Islam, is evil and is being spread throughout the U.S.
"It's a spiritual battle of good and evil, and a lot of folks on the left have a difficult time thinking that there is actually good and evil," said White, San Antonio ACT chapter president, according to The Washington Post.
White and ACT believe the Muslim Brotherhood, a Sunni Islamic movement in the Middle East, is spreading sharia throughout the U.S., and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, and most mosques are spinoffs of the Brotherhood.
Anti-Muslim organizations and Christian fundamentalists support ACT, and White said that the group has a "direct line" to President Donald Trump.
CIA Director Mike Pompeo sponsored an ACT meeting in Washington in 2016 and has spoken at the group's conferences. Trump's ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn, who resigned earlier this week, is on the board of ACT, The Post notes.
White said the Muslim Brotherhood, a Sunni Islamic movement, is spreading sharia throughout the U.S., and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, and most mosques are spinoffs of that group.
"They're jihadists wearing suits. That's a tough thing for us to wrap our heads around because we don't feel threatened," White told The Post.
ACT founder Brigitte Gabriel said the group is seeing success for its efforts.
"We are on the verge of playing the most pivotal role in reversing the significant damage that has been done to our nation's security and well-being over the past eight years," Gabriel said in December, the Post reported.
The group has almost 17,500 volunteers and 500,000 "grass-roots volunteers," according to Gabriel.
ACT has lobbied in favor of Trump's travel ban, claims 22 wins in Republican statehouses on laws including ramping up penalties for terrorism. The group also successfully got "errors" taken out of Texas textbooks — what ACT leaders said were pro-Islamic, anti-Christian statements.
America is the victim of an international conspiracy, and Trump's administration is the only way the U.S. can be saved, according to ACT. "We have four years — the most important four years of our lives — to redouble the efforts. If we blow it, our kids live in slavery," said Trevor Loudon, maker of the film, "Enemies Within."
Former CAIR Tampa executive director Ahmed Bedier slammed the group, saying, "These guys are on the fringe of the fringe, and now they have people on the inside of the most powerful government in the world."
"They're fascists. They don't want any presence of Muslims in America. And the only Muslim that is acceptable to them is a former Muslim," Bedier told The Post.
The group, founded in New Hampshire, appeared on the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hate Map, a list of hate groups, that was released Wednesday.
