THANK YOU! Jeff!
I'm on record as saying that I appreciate Jack White as a musician, but there's no way I'm putting him in the same league as Eddie Van Halen. Heck, until this post, I wouldn't have even put their names in the same sentence! :)

Don't watch. Just listen.
Most musicians would never be able to handle doing all the things he does by himself.

Talk of amazing guitarists starts and ends with Hendrix. There is no one remotely in the same league with him.
Jack White? Get out of town...

You limit yourself to one genre. Les Paul, Glen Campbell, Roy Clark and/or Chet Atkins could easily play with any of the above. IMO, Roy Clark is probably better than 2/3's of your list and as good as any.

You're right, Roy Clark is a damn good picker and guitarist. Another one who is a surprisingly good picker is Vince Gill.
I noticed Buddy Guy isn't on the list, either is Junior Brown, or Jack White for Christ's sake!. I must snub the "Stoner" now, for being such a stoner with his list of top 40 crapola. :talk2hand:

Didn't see this before I post above.
Not hands down, but pretty close. I saw them a few weeks ago, one of the best shows I've seen in awhile and I've seen just about everyone from John Lee Hooker to Junior Wells to Johnny Lang.
Eddy Van Halen ain't all that, Jeff.

Your thing says you're from New York. I would think you would have plenty of concert opportunities? I'd probably drive to Charlotte (about 4 hours) to see the White Stripes.
