What happened to them?

Years ago there were several members here who told us how great Obamacare would be

I recall BullyPulpit, OCA, Gabby (I believe) all said good we would have it

Hell they acually thought young and health people would spend large sums of cash to pay a policy with high deductables so old and sick people could get coverage

Now one week from the election people see how such they are saving

This week, USA Today published a map that details just how much rates are set to increase:

and we have more on the success of Obamacare

Will this have any impact on the election? And where are all the Obamacare lovers hiding?

Health law consumers face least choice in program's history

WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans in the health insurance markets created by President Barack Obama's law will have less choice next year than any time since the program started, a new county-level analysis for The Associated Press has found.

The analysis by AP and consulting firm Avalere Health found that about one-third of U.S. counties will have only one health marketplace insurer next year. That's more than 1,000 counties in 26 states — roughly double the number of counties in 2014, the first year of coverage through the program.
With insurance notices for 2017 in the mail, families are already facing difficult choices, even weighing whether to stay covered.

"At this point we are at a loss," said Ryan Robinson of Phoenix. "We don't know what the next step is." He and his wife, Nicole, only have plans from one insurer available next year, and the company doesn't appear to cover an expensive immune-system medication for their 11-year-old daughter.
Phoenix is the market hardest hit by insurer exits, shrinking from eight carriers to one. With many other communities affected, however, the problem of dwindling choice may create even bigger political headaches than the rising premiums announced earlier this week.

Largely as a result of the Affordable Care Act, the nation's uninsured rate has dropped to a historically low level, less than 9 percent. But the program hasn't yet found stable footing, and it remains politically divisive. Insurer participation rose in 2015 and 2016, only to plunge.

Dwindling choice could be a trickier issue than rising premiums for the Obama administration and advocates of the 2010 law, including Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Now we have this

It is the states that have caused the crash of Obamacare. Hell I thought the left would blame Fox News and Rush Limbaugh

How States Have Sabotaged Obamacare
This week, the government finally confirmed (http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox/2016/10/24/obamacare_premiums_to_rise_22_percent_in_2017.html ) much of the bad news about Obamacare that the health-policy world had been expecting for months (http://www.slate.com/articles/business/moneybox/2016/08/is_obamacare_doomed_all_your_questions_answered.ht ml). After losing a good deal of money on customers who have turned out to be older and sicker than anticipated, insurance companies are pulling back from the individual market next year and significantly raising their prices: About one-fifth of the country will have just a single carrier to choose from on the Affordable Care Act's exchanges, and average premiums before government subsidies are increasing 22 percent in the states where data is available.

But those problems aren't equally severe everywhere. In places (https://aspe.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/212721/2017MarketplaceLandscapeBrief25.pdf) like Massachusetts and Ohio, numerous insurers are still competing for business, and premiums have stayed relatively low—in both the Bay and Buckeye states there will be at least 10 carriers offering coverage, and a 27-year-old will be able to buy a benchmark silver plan for less than $230 a month on average. On the opposite end of the spectrum there are cases like Alabama, where only one insurer is set to sell coverage, and a benchmark plan will cost $384.The fact that Obamacare seems to be working much better in some corners of the country than others has raised an obvious question: Is the health reform law having problems because it's badly designed? Or is troubled because some states are too busy fighting the law to properly implement it?

Unfortunately, it's hard to say for sure. Under the Affordable Care Act, the U.S. is still cursed with 50 different, complicated insurance markets, and nobody that I know of really has a complete read on what's going on in every single one of them. But there is evidence that, yes, some states have sabotaged their own insurance markets by refusing to cooperate with Obamacare's goals.

Perhaps a liberal can explain why someone would go tot college, medical school, be a resident, open a office, rent the medical equipment, and hire staff only NOT to make a profit

Oh well that makes as much sense as Dems defending Obamacare

An even better question might be....

how the hell did they (proponents of ObamaCare) justify Congress exempting themselves AND THEIR STAFF from having to adhere to the ObamaCare law....because they couldn't afford it. If they couldn't afford it at their salaries.....it goes without saying that the average American couldn't afford it EITHER.

For the same reason Obama did about 35 end-runs around Congress and delayed Obamacare being fully enacted via Executive Orders until now

Both knew it sucked

and if you a a low information voter (aka a Hillary voter) and get your news and information from the liberal media - well you have no idea how successsful Obamacare really is

Despite skyrocketing premiums, major insurance companies backing out, and one state exchange after another failing (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/mike-ciandella/2016/08/31/abc-nbc-ignore-all-obamacare-failures-2016-cbs-barely-covers), in all of 2016, the evening news broadcasts of ABC, CBS and NBC have only devoted 10 minutes and 19 seconds combined to ObamaCare failures. Until Bill Clinton called the Affordable Care Act “this crazy system” on October 3, ABC and NBC hadn’t covered any ObamaCare news in 2016 at all.

Oh...I'm quite sure that Obama and Holder's people think it's simply splendid. After all.....they're getting their quality healthcare plans subsidized by taxpayers now. Much better than the crappy old Medicaid they used to have to rely on. You know....the same Medicaid that many middle-class folks are now having to rely on because they don't "qualify" for a taxpayer-funded subsidy.

You see how this works, right? Leftist/DemocRat redistribution of wealth and "social justice".

That above could not be more "SPOT ON"!

They are worth hundreds of thousands a year, yet exempt themselves from something
that was "For All Americans"?

That made me damn near throw up when I heard it.

Thank heaven I have VA Medical coverage and Tri-Care, which I bet they want to
cut in to.

Actually I'd say insurance premiums are high due to regulations and ever increasing mandates.

Yep, real reform would return insurance to its basic function, to cover expenses outside of reasonable expected costs.

Beyond that, companies could offer more comprehensive, but those choosing that pay the premiums. Hw many buy offered insurance coverage on appliances?

I am still waiting for someone who supported Obamacare to explain why a single male (with an individual policy) must carry maternity benefits.

Those were the 7 million "sub standard" polices that were cancelled when Obamacare first went into effect

and what are the supports of Obamacare saying will fix it? MORE MONEY of course

They want taxpayers to pay more of the cost of the policies. They say that will lower the cost of coverage.

No it will not. It will lower the cost to the freeloader sucking of the government, but add to the nations debt as the Feds spend more money we do not have.

The left say increase the fines for not buying insurance. It is now cheaper for the young and healthy not to buy the overpriced Obamacare policies. So - shocker - libs want higher taxes.

No matter how massive the failuers in government run programs, the only answer that comes for liberals is to throw more taxpayer money at it
