Interesting, no? See a bit of commonalities?

I can see that as being accurate. CA tries to tax everything, and the sales tax alone is sky-high.
It's a wonder they do not try to tax how many steps you walk during the day!:laugh2:
All to fund welfare and illegal immigrant programs.

While I don't have time now to check, I'm pretty sure those under $100 are red states. Those well over $100 may not be 'wealthy' states, but they are affordable and likely with Republican governors.

Nope....the ones under $100 are Democrat except for NJ.

Whoops, I wrote red, meaning blue. Following sentence should have proven my misstatement. I apologize.

CA is so rotten that they have a "Usage Tax" on goods purchased from out of state.
It (they) must be declared on the Income Tax forms 520.
If you order something from another state, pay that sales tax, CA still wants to tax it!
Even if I crossed the border into Oregon and bought something, CA wanted a cut!
I'm glad to be out of there!

My guess it looks similar to the donor states vs. receiver states map which IIRC correlated to urban vs. rural populations. Cities cost more than non cities.

I believe that's pretty much a requirement in every state.

So far, not in Oregon. There is no sales tax here.

They tax breathing in NM. Johnson did that crap. If I walk out and trim my roses I get taxed.
The joke is on them. All the casinos are on indian land and can't be taxed. We pay the make-up.

Right, because they have no sales tax.

Of course. I'm sure it was all his fault.
