I'm bored, and this is all that's in front of me at the moment. These are 7 of my knives. WHICH one is the best "quality"? WHICH one would do the most "damage"? WHICH one would Gunny like the most? :)

Of your selection, I'd probably favor the SOG based on reputation. Though, when going from left to tight, the second knife appears to have a longer blade... That one or the SOG.

Well, that's why it's a game, and guessing. :)

But you nailed the damage one! The Husky I got from Home Depot awhile back and it's a box cutter that just looks like a knife. That sucker is probably 10x sharper than all of the others. Now, of course it doesn't have the length of something like a kabar, but you can still do some serious slicing!!

And you were correct with your other guess, the best quality is the SOG, while that's not my better one. They are some great knives for fairly decent prices. :)

Now we just need to find Gunny's knife. :)

SOG makes a very quality knife! And of course I mentioned the "damage" that a razor knife could do, as in the Husky.

And then the one Gunny would like the most, even if a knock off. All anyone had to do was zoom in!! 2nd from left...

Far left. I ALWAYS have a clip knife on me. There's one clipped to my pocket right now. I sleep with it. Don't you watch NCIS? Gunny Gibb's Rule # something: ALWAYS carry a knife. I'd feel naked without one. On deployment I usually had about 4 blades and a Leatherman on me.

MY SOG CAME WITH A BELT CLIP ATTACHED RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.
I keep that blade razor sharp and it will cut bone .
Before I moved I WORE IT CLIPPED ON MY BELT BUT HERE NOT SURE HOW THE COPS GO WITH THAT SO I NOW CARRY IT IN MY PANT'S FRONT POCKET.
IF ONE HAS NO GUN, THEY HAD BEST HAVE A KNIFE ON THEM--THIS WORLD GETS DARKER AND MORE DANGEROUS BY THE DAY--THANK OBAMA AND DEM PARTY FOR THAT LITTLE GIFT.
Lucky for me that my Indian grandfather taught my brother and I knife fighting at a very young age.
We used butter knives but even so those babies still hurt when one got careless when training (stabs and slices)..
He taught us hatchet and archery as well.
TAUGHT US THAT ANY HESITATION TO KILL THE ENEMY IS AN INVITATION FOR ONES ON DEMISE...
EVEN IN FIST FIGHTING NEVER HESITATE , FINISH IT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
All that in my life has stood me in good steed, since my path became a very violent one for many years as a young man.

I advise any father to teach their sons such, since government can not be depended on to protect ones family....

I collect knives. I used them daily at work and feel naked without one. As far as an EDC folder goes I prefer Benchmade or Spyderco.

Of the knives shown and as shown the SOG is probably the best quality but without a pocket clip I wouldn't carry it.

My evolution of knives started at about age 9. From beginning to current.

Every one of my knives has a clip, some were just turned on the other side. "Your" knife, the Marine one, also has a sturdy clip. :)

The older SOG's were made in Seki Japan. I think they are made in China and Taiwan now. Taiwan seems to have upped their game on the knife front. SOG came out with a Gunny (R. Lee Ermey) series in the last couple years that were made in Seki. Those will be collectors items.

Here's a few more of my knives. I bought a bunch of police auctions with knives in them. I kept whatever was interesting or of value and dumped the rest. That's about half of my folding knives. Some were also gifts.

You got a nice collection going there, Crin!! A lot of straight knives too, and some nice ones. I'm more of a folding knife kinda guy, but I'll happily take that long SOG ya got in the first picture!! :)

NJ/NY are pretty tough on even carrying knives. Unless a leatherman, or a damn peanut knife that can fit on your keychain, they can arrest you. I think like 3-4" is about it? Plus I guess it depends on how cool the cop is on top of that. Speaking of little guys, this is 2 of my really sharpest knives. Very often the one little black one is on my keychain. The other 2 small ones I love as well. The mini-leatherman type is a great tool to have in a pinch!!

Wire strippers generally only go up to 10 gauge. You CAN skin #8s with the 10 gauge stripper, but anything larger you have to do the hard way. I learned my first day as an electrician not to skin wire with my pocket knife. It destroyed the blade.

I had a tool belt for that crap. MFer weighs a good 15 pounds. You're talking 12 gauge wire if it's a typical extension cord. I can strip that with my linesmans, needle nose, or strippers. I did commercial construction so I was usually not without my tools. Oddly enough, we carry most of the ones we're using certain jobs hanging in our pockets by the handles.

BTW, it is illegal to repair a power cord. It has to be replaced. Not saying it ain't done by everyone, just technically an inspector would bust us (the electricians) if they found on the job site. We were supposed to cut them up if we found one.
