Dr told me to practice with the sling, it's not cool, but seems will be a big part of the next 6-8 weeks.
Check out dmp's and NT's pics, feel free to post more of your own.

Mr. P ... love the hummer. I have Costas here ... 2 females (Mama and Kate) and 2 males (Pete and Rudy). They are my long term guests. Every now and then we have visitors and the backyard gets pretty hectic and we lost a female visitor on Sunday. In the fight over feeder she flew into our patio door and it was instantaneous. Very sad moment because grandson was here and was so excited to see them and he thought it was one of my regulars.
I have photos but they are nowhere near as stunning as the one you have here.

Welcome back. Great picture, I have always been interested in hummingbirds as they are my favorite of all birds.
At our old house we always had feeders out and they came. So far here at the new house, they havent came to the feeders.'-Tyr

Thanks Sassy, I am glad you like the pic.
No Costas in this part of the country. The Ruby-throated (female in pic) is very common here.

Just don't go to Texas from what I'm reading. Most sites seem to agree in the 11mph range for a typical gator. A human they say is approximately 28mph. An adult human is said to be in the range of 10-15mph! Seems like a fair fight if ya ask me.
But if you're in Texas - "According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, alligators can run up to 35 mph on land. Although these animals are frighteningly quick runners, they are only able achieve these speeds in short bursts and maintain it for only very short distances."
I might remind you, if near water and retreating from a gator, a short burst, short distance is all the sucker will need.
So, whether Texas, or taking chances elsewhere - my recommendation? As always, never go alone! If you go in a pair, or even better in a small group, then you likely only need to be faster than the slowest person there. :) Or in reality, from what I recall and could be wrong, run in a zig zag pattern as they run straight. My recommendation? As you zig zag, zag in front of the slowest person there. :)
