I can totally relate.
I worked Line Crew for a summer back when I was an apprentice. Naturally, I felt I was up to the task of keeping up with the Linemen I was working with... every day was this :
5 AM - roll out of bed, shower, head to work, vowing never to touch booze again.
6 AM - start the 580s and Dozers, ram as much coffee as possible to sober up.
10 AM - haven't we been working for 12 hours yet? Need more water.
11 AM - sober and miserably tired.. toy with the idea of letting a Dozer run me over to end the pain.
3 PM - you know, a beer doesn't sound bad.
4 PM - hell with beer, going to have a mixed drink. Just one.
5 PM - morning's misery all but forgotten, feeling good.
6 PM - shut the 580s & Dozers down, beeline to the liquor store.
1 AM - should probably get some sleep... maybe just one more.
Rinse & repeat 7 days a week, all summer long.
I was a young man in great shape, and these guys were all in their 40s & 50s doing this routine... Linemen are legendary. Kind of modern day Vikings.

Marcos Alberti's 3 Glasses project began as a joke and a few drinks between friends.But after imgur (http://imgur.com/gallery/I2Mxz) user minabear circulated the photo project — which depicts Alberti's friends immediately after work and again after one, two and three glasses of wine — 3 Glasses went viral, garnering more than 1 million views and nearly 1,800 comments.
And anyone who has ever had a long day at work and needed to wine down will quickly see why.
