Ben Carson said on Monday that even if Donald Trump turned out to be a lousy president, he’ll only be in office for four years.

"Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don't think is the case, I think he's going to surround himself with really good people, but even if he didn't, we're only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever," Carson told Newsmax (http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/carson-trump-administration/2016/03/14/id/719044/)'s Steve Malzberg.

The former Republican presidential contender and retired pediatric neurosurgeon endorsed (http://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/campaign-endorsements-220410) Trump last week. Carson did not elaborate when asked about a potential role in a Trump administration, other than to say that he would be "doing things" in an “advisory capacity.”

"We haven't hammered out all the details," Carson said when pressed on whether he had been promised a Cabinet post or something else. "I'm not going to reveal any details about it right now because all of this is still very liquid."

In fairness I doubt this has to do so much about Carson's beliefs about Trump as much as backlash from people that supported him and are angry at the endorsement.

I love how the headline misleads.....

He could be more clear, but when I heard that I assumed he meant, it's much better than the alternative of a Dem President.

I'd you read all of what he said as opposed to just the headline and first paragraph...

I do too, to a degree. The last 2 paragraphs though are not what he said, just a recap of how he endorsed over a week ago.

I understand he and Trump have come across as "pals" off and on throughout this process. But did folks really expect Carson to endorse Cruz after the Iowa shenanigans?

I sure did not.

No way would he endorse Cruz after that.

Voters don't forget that kind of crap, either. He really kneecapped himself with that maneuver.

I say the education department!! But it's all just talk for now. But I do think it helps, even if a little bit. Carson supporters may be happy to see that he may potentially have a spot in office, and perhaps some of them then vote as a result. I dunno.

If he's a shitty president it will be at least 8 years, if the current example is any indication.

Well maybe there's a reason Carson seems to be hesitant?

Trump mocks new ally Christie in Kasich attack; 'hated to do that'

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 15 (UPI) -- Republican front-runner Donald Trump (http://www.upi.com/topic/Donald_Trump/) mocked his new friend New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (http://www.upi.com/topic/Chris_Christie/) to make a point about Ohio Gov. John Kasich (http://www.upi.com/topic/John_Kasich/)'s absentee governorship.

During Monday's Trump rally at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna, Ohio, Trump poked fun (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/watch-donald-trump-mocks-chris-christie-while-on-stage-absentee-governor) at Christie while he criticized Kasich for spending more time in New Hampshire than in Ohio.

"Your governor is absentee," Trump said. "Your governor Kasich, if you look at him, and I'm being totally impartial, he goes to New Hampshire. He's living in New Hampshire. Living. Where's Chris? Is Chris around? Even more than Chris Christie, he was there."

"Right? Even more," Trump said as he pointed off-stage. "I hated to do that but I had to make my point."

Both Kasich and Christie have been criticized for spending too much time (http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/03/14/donald-trump-jabs-foe-john-kasich-and-friend-chris-christie-alike/)campaigning in New Hampshire while still holding elected office. Trump won the New Hampshire primary, which resulted in Christie suspending his presidential campaign (http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2016/02/10/New-Jersey-Gov-Chris-Christie-to-suspend-presidential-campaign/5551455120901/?ilink=1).

We've often said that Carson is honest, this seems to prove that point:

No president's influence lasts for their term then stops. If a D wins, we'll feel the damage long after he/she is gone - thanks to policy and justices and taxes and stuff.

Hoover didn't need two terms.
