NC 12th district- again!

This must be the most gerrymandered district in the US. In 1992 when the Democrats were in charge, they drew this, and were very happy with this gem:

Lawsuits up to the SCOTUS were heard, culminating in this beauty in 1997, again drawn by the Democrats holding the majorities in the NC state congress:

Another suit forced the Democrats to redraw the map to a more copact shape in 1998:

Never content just because they lost a lawsuit, the Democrats again redew District 12 for further Gerrymandering:

Enter the Obama legacy, where the Democrat Party lost huge, and in 2010 Republicans in NC took over both state houses, and for the first time since Reconstruction get to draw the state's congressional districts. Here's what they ended up with in 2011:

Now it's the Democrats turn to be unhappy, suing the GOP about the 2011 map, so they came up with this:

Never content just because they lost a lawsuit, the Democrats again redew District 12 for further Gerrymandering:

They do that in SW Texas every roll over. The Dems actually ran off to a motel in Oklahoma one year to stall the vote. Their motto is: "If you can't win fair and square, cheat".

Now the Demopcrats are really unhappy, because the District isn't Gerrymandered at all. :laugh:
