27 issues (some opinion) on Trump vs Cruz (with links). Pretty good. As time gets closer, I am getting more concerned about a possible Trump candidacy.

Will not matter. Trump is personality. Cruz carries a wimpy tone. Its in his voice and vocal patterns.
Trump is like a Pro-wrestler character running for president. Cruz is like an actual person.

I could write 20 pages on Trump versus Cruz, but with an audience of perhaps a couple dozen people at most, I won't. What I will say is this: Cruz is a lifelong Evangelical Conservative; Trump just plays one on TV.
Cruz was raised by a Baptist preacher and even as a teen promoted Evangelical Conservative values. All through his career he has promoted those values without fail. Looking at something as simple as Wikipedia tells the story.

Now look at Trump's lifetime and you'll get a different picture:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump
When asked in 2015 which recent president was best, Trump picked Democrat Bill Clinton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton) over Republicans George H.W. Bush (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_H.W._Bush) and George W. Bush (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush).[156] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump#cite_note-156)[157] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump#cite_note-157) The Clintons' foundation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_Foundation) has received between $100,000 and $250,000 from Trump,[158] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump#cite_note-158) and they attended Trump's 2005 wedding reception.[159] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump#cite_note-159) Trump wrote in 2008 that Hillary Clinton would be a "great president or vice-president".[160] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump#cite_note-160)
People can admire Trump as a businessman, but anyone thinking he would govern as a conservative is just fooling themselves.

I don't like Cruz's evangelical roots. That scares me just a little bit.

Another area of agreement, though if he's nominee, I'd vote for him.

Why does that scare you?

Because he knows the right things to say to stir up evangelicals. Because he might put his religious views ahead of Liberty. Same as Obama has put his evil religious views ahead of liberty and freedom.

Sounding like a protestant in 1959, I do fear his version of the Bible may trump Constitution. Hopefully that is not a threat, Cruz has a long history of adhering and respect for the Constitution.

Checks and balances are there for this very reason. And I hope he does govern with a moral compass.

I know, it's wrong, and all the more reason I want a truly godly man to make those appointments.
i have never been convinced of Obama's heart.
