I have been thinking all day about an American TV series about a city in which there are humans and aliens co-existing and (from what I remember) a military coup takes place by the humans to try and stop aliens from gaining civil rights?

Anyone seen it advertise? I saw it the other day on a Youtube advertisement.

Thanks but the one I saw it seemed to be advertising to watch something upcoming. It was like the world was post apocalyptic and there was this one city and there was an upcoming election and someone was on a webcam saying who they would vote for and it seemed like the different races of aliens and the dominant humans were voting for their candidate because of what species they were, then it appeared that martial law was declared in which armored vehicles rolled into the city... that is all I can remember.

Defiance started airing in 2013. I believe the last episode aired in 2015. I don't think it was picked up for another season (2016), though I could be wrong.
