What's up with the Victoria's Secret banner ads on your site, Jim? All I've been searching for lately are for car parts, and the occasional political factoid.

I can't ever explain or figure them out perfectly. They are supposed to "read" all of the text on the displayed page, and deliver ads based on that text. It's not very accurate for a site like this. But suppose you're on a site for nothing but cars, or car parts and such, I'll bet then that the majority of the ads are spot on.

AND, and I know most will deny.... Google is very intrusive as we all know. If I go to another site right now and search around for a new pair of boots - when I come back here its is very possible that I now see ads for boots. Google knows where you've been!! Tracking cookies and such I guess.

So while they are usually targeted by text, an individual may also see ads based on their very recent search history. You perv!! :laugh:

Funny, perfect example, I just noticed I'm getting ads for Lenscrafters. And I was on their site like an hour ago, checking to see where there was one near me, and which insurance they accepted, as I need to go to a difference place and get rechecked and hopefully get a better pair of glasses for distance. But then when I refresh I saw one for Staples. I hate that place. Not sure why I got that one.

I routinely (weekly, twice/ month) run CCleaner and HitManPro and get rid of all my history, cookies and shit. When I do, the Victorias Secret ads, Asian dating sites, etc, are usually the first to show up. They slowly get replaced with ads for car parts, building supplies, and stuff I'm actually researching. Perhaps Google thinks I've cleaned because I've been watching porn. :laugh2:
