CINCINNATI -- A bomb threat forced the evacuation Thursday afternoon of the Hamilton County Justice Center.

The threat was called in around 2 p.m. to the jail records department, police said.

Authorities evacuated the first floor, which is the only public portion of the building, for about one hour.

No prisoners were released from the building.

Police searched the area with bomb-sniffing dogs and found nothing, investigators said.

The building was placed on lockdown after it was evacuated, police said.

No arrests have been made in the threat.

Hmm they only evacuated the first floor what about the other 8 floors?

Guess they figured it couldn't bring down the building. Each building holds 500 inmates so they would have had to move them all out the back stairs and down to the court yards and then to another area entirely. It was probably determined to be safe before the evacuation could even begin. The first floor is much easier to evacuate as its offices and courtrooms.
