Was thinking the other day about how most of the things that Liberalism is based on are false assumptions, and here's my list of what they are.
Liberalism's False Assumptions:
1. Assumption - Most people will do what's best for everyone if given a chance.
Truth - A small percentage of people will do what's best for everyone. Most people will do just what's best for themselves, and expect others to help everyone else.
2. Assumption - If you treat terrorists (or anyone who attacks the US) nicely, they will stop attacking, and/or will start to like us.
Truth - If you treat terrorists nicely, they will laugh at our stupidity, assume we are weak, and plan more attacks.
3. Assumption - We've been safe within our borders for a long time, therefore we will be safe within our borders forever, even if we reduce the military, allow whackjobs like ISIS to develop, and allow unvetted Syrians into our cities by the tens of thousands.
Truth - That's what Rome thought.
4. Assumption - There is something morally wrong with one person having more income than another person.
Truth - You can argue socialism versus capitalism, but clearly you have to allow some people to get more income than other people, or else no one has any incentive to work hard. Any every single country in history that has tried socialism has proven this point by collapsing.
5. Assumption - Anyone who isn't a Liberal is heartless/unenlightened/is part of the war on yada-yada/is one of George Bush's minions.
Truth - Most non-liberals are just people that realize that Liberalism is based on falsehoods.
