This is the Arizona right to bear arms. Don't need to ask for permission...
Arizona State Constitution Article 2 § 26
26. Bearing arms
Section 26. The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the state shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain, or employ an armed body of men.

Shopping For Weapons
Journalist Fernanda Santos wrote for The New York Times 5 December 2015:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“What if someone comes after me or my family?” said Janet Winkler, a grandmother who was shopping for bullets to fill the revolver inside her purse. “I used to never carry it to Target or to Wal-Mart, but the way things are, after all that’s happened, now I do.”
...“It’s handguns and long guns,” Mr. Reber said, referring to the semiautomatic rifles he sells. “It’s a lot of women buying guns. It’s husbands bringing their wives to buy guns. They don’t want to be sitting ducks in a pond.”
...Gun control advocates are clearly frustrated.
...“I believe my government is supposed to protect me, but it has let me down,” said Mr. Melikian, 56, a recreational target-shooter. “I resent having to defend myself. I should not have to, but at this point, I don’t feel like I have a choice.”

The media has suddenly decided to coin the phrase "long guns" as if it's something new. Depends on how many centuries you want to count. A "long gun" is actually a shotgun or musket.. A rifle is a rifle. SO named because ... wait for it ... it has a RIFLED barrel. A pistol is either a single shot flintlock or a semi-automatic. A revolver is NOT a pistol.
And ANY firearm is an "assault" weapon. So is the handle on my rake. A bayonet lug, sling receivers, flash suppressor and pistol grip don't make it anything more nor less.
