When somebody dies they are dead only from our perspective. If the person is being spied-upon by aliens 1000 light years away, the person 'remains alive' while the light transfers to the eye of the alien who can clearly see the person alive and doing stuff and all that - 1000 years in the future. In the past nobody is dead who was born after the past happened. To modern christians, circa 50AD nobody who died last week (in 2015) is dead because they haven't yet existed. Right?
