Everybody Loves Raymond was a sitcom about fictional sportswriter Raymond Barone, his wife Debra, three children Ally, Michael, and Geoffrey. Raymond's parents, Frank and Marie, live across the street.
Michael and Geoffrey were twin baby boys when the series started. As the boys aged and started pre-school, grandpa Frank decided Geoffrey was gay. It was an ongoing joke.
As it turned out in real life, Geoffrey (Sawyer Sweeten) was bullied about being gay. On April 23 of this year he committed suicide after being driven to despair over money problems, a failed showbiz career and bullying over gay rumors.
