I hate first dates. You sit there and watch someone look like a hog at the trough just trying to duck down inside your clothes hoping no one recognizes you. Got their elbows all over the table, talking with food in their mouths. Don't know which fork to use. I learned a LONG time ago -- don't go any place where people know you on a first date.

If you ain't got manners, I can guarantee you no second date.

Got to get with our culture, sister. Of course it's disgusting. I really didn't even look. I addressed the topic. Going to dinner with someone who has no table manners is just as disgusting.

It has become increasingly worse since I first started posting. People post links, videos and pics instead of expressing opinions. I post videos rarely. If I post a link, I've got an opinion to go with it. It keeps getting worse. When I first started posting it was about people and their opinions. It's turned into links, vids and pics.

As far as your threads go, need to quit worrying. If they actually stay on topic it's a miracle. Too many different personalities. Some are serious as Hell and some of us are just big teases. We address the topic but in our own warped sense of humor little way.

Look at THIS thread. I'd have lost a bet that it would go anywhere. But it did. You need to stop worrying about what threads you start do. I can't even imagine how many I have started that are dead somewhere with no response. Like I told you, it depends on who is on and who is reading. It is NOT a reflection on you.

Take tyr for example. I like tyr. I'm about as likely to read poetry as I am to re-grow hair. He doesn't care. He posts his stuff.

This isn't a really serious board. We're all as old or older than you. What are you going to prepare us for? Getting old?:laugh: I get your point. I see things in the news that never appear here. BUT let's look at the other side of the coin: You don't have to posture here, you don't have to join a gang, and you can pretty much say what you want. I can't stand biddy bunches and I can't stand a-holes who are a-holes just to be a-holes. Neither is debating a topic. Just d*ckheads running around being exactly that. I got out of the rat race. I ran it for too long. I'm just too burned out to play that crap anymore.

You need to quit worrying about what you think people aren't reading and/or not responding to. Try posting at 2AM. Guess how many friend I have? :laugh: Everyone knows you're here, probably reads all your posts. Should try try being a vet. We rarely acknowledge each other's existence.

As I told you before, there's no rhyme nor reason. A thread about "Dirt" can run 10 pages and one on the theory of evolution die with the first post. It isn't you. Don't take it personally.

I don't "try" to be a "tough guy". Make no mistake, I am a hardass. No trying required on my part. I just try to understand people. I didn't invent the world ... I'm just part of it. I don't understand a lot of things. I just try to tolerate stuff as other peoples' choices. I served for you and everyone else to have that Right. I'm not going to turn around and deny it.

Stop doubling down on yourself. My experience is when you start trying too hard you just make yourself miserable. Just relax. Like I said ... if the crew around here didn't like you, you wouldn't have to guess. Tact is not exactly one of our better traits. :laugh:

Again, there's a difference between disagree and dislike. Not sure about Noir, but I can pretty much assure you FJ doesn't dislike you. He's just FJ.
