Trump brought this up last night and it had me wondering. Watch the videos and news about the immigrants flowing into various countries. You will in fact see that it's mobs and mobs of mostly men, and mostly younger men. Where are all of the women and children? They are capable of starting riots and other trouble where they go. Why are they not able to fight for their country? And no, I'm not implying it's ALL men, all young, or any conspiracy theory. But with hundreds of thousands, you would think some of them, more of them, would stand up and defend - instead of running and having fights elsewhere.

You're repeating something I already said in another thread. The theme is get the fuck out there and fight for your own damned country.

Judging by how some, if not most, of them appear not-so-timid wherever they end up, I would think that they could have better served their country by staying and fighting. But then, perhaps this "crisis" isn't all it's cracked up to be or as portrayed by the PTBs that caused it and are now orchestrating it, eh?

Didn't know I was repeating you, ya filthy bastard! :) But I agree with you, of course.
I suppose at the end of the day I wouldn't mind some folks who left in fear. That's natural. But to go elsewhere and make demands? Fight citizens and authority? Hell, if you can do that, then go back home and do it!!

The boats were overloaded and sacrifices had to be made.
Guess which demographic gets to vote?

Funny but sadly probably a little true. I would bet my life that some of them men bailed on their wives for their own security.

I probably shouldn't joke about that, because that's probably been happening en masse.
There's no way that the refugees should comprise of 90% younger men that are trying to flee Islamic Utopia in those crappy little boats that are grossly overloaded... in fact, there logically should be more women & children arriving in Europe than young men, what with the war fighting and all.
However... we all know how courageous your typical muzzie is when facing other armed men ready to do violence.

I'm just surprised they didn't take their sons with them. But I guess they can always make more. :rolleyes:

I wouldn't trust the general reporting on this. There are a few reasons you might see men banded up, and not all of them are bad. Like me, if I'm traveling like this, you better believe that I'm grabbing a few guys like Gunny, you and any mil vets I can find, or who have family of their own to protect, and we're forming up a posse, for all of our mutual protection.
For most of these countries that the refugees are from, it's a more traditional layout to the household, with the men protecting the women and children. This extends here, really, because what you do is have the women and children hunker down wherever they can, while the men search, and return.
It's also easier to get other people to take women and children, along with the old and infirm, then males.
While there's going to be a certain amount of criminal activity in ANY refugee groups, you have to bear in mind that much of it is desperation crimes (need food/medicine/water/clothing for me and mine), and when those needs can be met, that section of the crime will drop off. Yeah, some people are going to do worse things, but that's human nature. The news seems to have been having some fun with playing up the air of danger, a lot. Not all of it ethically:

When I watch the trains and boats arrive, and they are overwhelmingly filled with men - then where are the ladies? If these men are arriving in new countries, did they just leave the women and kids at the last country? Leave them in Syria? Sure, the men can search and return, but from one country and then back to another country? That's not the men protecting women. I can see if they were in a shelter and the men went out for the day, while the women were protected - but I'm talking about the arrival into countries. Perhaps what you say is true, but I'd love to know just where it is they left them.

I'm going to have to disagree. The news outlets will always seek out the most pathetic people to film in these situations. That usually includes women and young children. If they are anywhere to be found, the cameramen will find them.

This is an invasion.....otherwise you would see women and children instead of healthy young men.

Yes, yes and yes. Women are property. Only men and possibly male children are important to Arabs. When push comes to shove a female is as valuable to an Arab male as your 1972 beater Toyota.
I keep saying this and all I every get is silence or called a racist but THEY DON'T THINK LIKE US. And we keep judging them by how WE think and not meeting the enemy where he lives. You can't win a war with something you refuse to understand.

Most likely because of prior pickups. Jim, the first thing you would do is secure your wife and children, right? Same thing here, but multiplied to a million. Like I said, the first people that get rescues in these scenarios are the women and children, which no one is arguing with. Well, if women and children first, then who is left for the refugees? Men. The longer this goes on, the more and more you're going to see men, and less women.
So let's continue your scenario: You managed to get your wife and kids into Germany, they're safe, but there wasn't space on the buses for you, and now the refugees are starting to pile up in the area where the buses show up, waiting to get the next buses to arrive, which means now, it's become a free-for-all for the next run. Do you wait for the next bus, knowing that much of the area's food and water is dwindling under the strain of so many mouths, or do you look for some people who seem to know where they're going? This is how refugees move, leaving an area as the mass arrives, keeping them in a constant state of motion.

So far everyone seems happy enough to have just gone along with a 'yep, most are young men' consensus.... Does anyone have data to back that up? Because the numbers I'm finding certainly don't. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j176/jonathan-mcc/055532C4-BB55-4024-AB04-E92A8E2797FF.png_zpswpaxamxh.jpeg (http://s80.photobucket.com/user/jonathan-mcc/media/055532C4-BB55-4024-AB04-E92A8E2797FF.png_zpswpaxamxh.jpeg.html) http://data.unhcr.org/syrianrefugees/regional.php

Apparently that page only covers Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon...
BUT, I will concede that the total number appear to be correct. So if the data is all accurate, then good job on you and ya did better than I did!!! I just know I've seen ships/trains arrive in videos, and that it seemed like they were almost all men. Perhaps the good posts that DS72 made explain some of it too.

The numbers are broken down by country or european nation. I believe Germany has accepted the largest number of refugees (about 2% of the 4 million) in Europe, Briton has said they will accept around 0.5% of the current refugee population over the next 5 years.
Have you any numbers at all on the number of 'young male' refugees that apparently everyone just accepted as a given?

I honestly don't have any numbers, just general numbers from stories. All I saw in that data you posted was those 4 places I posted (Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon). Maybe they collected that data on their way out? I just don't see any incoming numbers for Germany, for example.
If this wiki page is accurate, there's a ton of countries taking them in.

Depends on how you define 'leading'
if it's just 'which country has sent the most aid' sure.
But if it's 'which country has send the most aid in relation to its population' then the numbers look like
USA = £8.75
UK = £14.35
Kuwait = £191.00
Germany = £7.80
etc...
I'm sure they are plenty of other possible definitions (such as 'which country has send the most aid in relation to its GDP') that would mix up the 'leading' list.

How much did you send? :poke:
And no, I didn't send jack shit nor will I. So no, I'm not looking to condemn, just messing with ya! :)
I suppose, part of my point was - some are already condemning the US for lack of helping, and I'm sure those sentiments will grow. But IF we're going to assist, personally, I would prefer that they give money to places like the red cross or whatever to help them, as opposed to bringing them to our shores.

idk the monetary value however there is a drop centre in town were we donate staples, canned fruit and veg whenever we go shopping.

Total amount of money sent is what is important. Its relationship to the total population of the donating nation
may be interesting but has no substantive value. Especially not to those benefiting from the given aid.
USA leads and as usual we still have liberals, fools , idiots , asshats , liars, jackals, propagandists, dems, and other morons screaming that we are not doing enough!
To hell with all those that I named.
In my opinion, most of those lying vermin need to be made extinct themselves.--Tyr

You may be misunderstanding what i was saying.
The numbers i posted were not regarding how much the general populations were chosing to donate themselves. Rather a comparision of each counties aid sent over their respective populations.
i.e. USA sent £2.8 Billion, and has a population of about 320 million, which equates to around £8.75 per citizen by comparison the UK sent £920 Million and has a population of about 65 Million, which equates to about £14.30 citizen.
As to which of the UK or USA has sent more, you can answer either, depending on what your definition of "more" is.
Much in the same manor - If a millionaire donated £10 to a charity, and a homeless begger donated £5 to a charity, who has donated more?

True, true, I'll go along with that. I honestly don't have the answers then. I'd really prefer they don't land in the US, not even the amounts they are talking about for next year. But there has got to be places for them to go more in that region of the world.
Sounds like you kinda agree that folks are easily radicalized in the middle east. And even more so now that ISIS is spreading. :)

If i were an ISIS recruiter, and i saw thousands of homeless, and destitute, refugees who have had to flee their home nation, my first thought would be to get these people food, clothes and somewhere sheltered, from which the recruitment process can start.

I'm confident you are correct. That's why the entire region, the very people that stand to lose from ISIS ravaging the entire middle east, should be stepping in to help these people, and to have the whole process done in the correct manner, instead of allo0wing it to turn into basic training for ISIS.
Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey, Egypt.... just to name a few. Their governments should be stepping up to the plate with plans. Plans to not only help these people, but to also defend and/or fight against ISIS. I see more, MUCH MUCH more, being done by countries elsewhere.

Noir, I get that part. What I am saying is that does not matter except in regards to a moral evaluation of who charity is greater--the millionaire of the poor man's. However,these are governments not individuals and if considering we owe a staggering 19 trillion dollars+ WITH OVER A HUNDRED TRILLION IN UNFUNDED LIABILITIES-- maybe its us that is actually poor ..
