Yep. Saw it. The GF woke me up saying there was someone in our back yard. I got all rigged up to go get some and it turned out to be her daughter on the phone talking about the eclipse.

I was like "man, don't get me wired up for this". :laugh:

Moonlight streaming in my window woke me before 2 am. It's weird, 3:30 and can see just about everything outside. ;)

If you look right now you can see both Venus and Mars to the south.

I waited all day for it, then got involved in a TV show and forgot about it until about 1 am when a buddy called and asked if I had seen it, he is actually in Athens ( about 25 miles from me ) with his Mom in hospice, but wanted to know if we where able to see it, seems there was to many clouds for him to see it, so I probably didn't miss much, seeing as for some reason Mother Nature thinks it is springtime and has been dumping rain on us for a week straight.

I watched the first half of it....stopped watching right about the time a sliver of white showed at the left bottom part. It was nice though. I can definitely see now why they call it a "blood moon" re: the reddish tinge due to refracted light. Interesting night, to be sure.

Yes, my youngest son insisted we go to a place with no light pollution. Using Google maps, I discovered an area just East of Ethel, TX. We viewed it from there.

I just moved around my back yard till I could peek through the trees with binoculars. (too lazy to go anywhere)
