I'm now sharing my time with a British forum, one that's the rough equivalent of this one (sometimes very rough ..).

So anyway, I've just come across a post in which one of my fellow Brits says .. I quote .. 'Given that the Yanks refer to our capital as Londonistan'.

I said in reply that I'd check that out on the forum I post to in America ... so, this is me doing just that ....

... and if the reply or replies I get back say 'Yes, we do' ... by all means, tell me why ...

It's rather hard to forget, Perianne !! A clash of cultures, unfortunately, combined with a certain small, closed-mindedness of attitude and worldview.

I'm sorry to say it, but if I 'speak as I find' ... well, many Brits see your countrymens' interest in and willingness to own guns as evidence of an 'uncivilised' culture'. Much the same goes for your resistance to socialised healthcare, such as our own NHS. The British will never understand any of that, I'm afraid.

Some cities do change their names. There was a move a few years ago to change the name of my city, Lexington.

42% did not want the name to change.

London is 20 year+ ahead of Belfast, in Belfast muslim ghettos/mosques are just starting to pop up but it has no immediate problems in terms of muslim grooming gangs and terrorism/extremism.

If you know anything about Irish Politics you'd know that Sinn Fein was one of the three parties that brokered the peace in Northern Ireland that culminated with the Easter Accords in 1998.

Ian Paisley was an Idiot. He'd have had the Ulster Unionists killing Catholics to this day. He was a religious Zealot and he opposed peace at every turn. Even voicing opposition to the Easter Accords that started in 1996 and ended with peace in 1998.

Paisley finally relented in 2006 with the St. Andrews Agreement and began to work with Sinn Fein to form a Unity Government.

So what else do you need to know except that Paisley was a Zealot, a Bigot and an opponent to peace right up until he had no alternative but to accept it or lose power. It

I guess we can see why you admire him.... He wanted to persecute Catholic Republicans right up until he had no other choice but to work with them.

Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness (Sinn Fein) did far more for peace and Prosperity than paisley ever did...
